During our visit to Seattle, we had lunch at the Melrose Market. The food was reasonably good and service efficient. The oysters were very fresh.

The very creative Melrose Market, with some of the city's best cafes and most creative retail, literally stinks. Why keep all the garbage cans on the sidewalk and why never, ever clean the sidewalks?

This lovely market has it all. Anchored by Sitka and Spruce, a wonderful restaurant, there is a flower shop, a wine shop, a cheese shop, and Rainshadow Meats, a truly upscale butcher shop. Worth a stop.
