Here's what I LOVE about the district. It is such a breathing changing place and yet...always kind of the same. People ceomplain about the homeless asking for "spare change", while in the 60s people were more upset about the kids who would quietly inquireas you...More

The only thing really going for this Seattle neighborhood is its proximity to the University of Washington. If you are visiting the U-Dub, then you may want to walk around this area. University Way is the heart of the district and is what many consider...More

University District has some ruff edges (Seattle is a major city with everything that that means) But don't let that stop you from visiting. There are some great places to eat, some interesting shopping and one of the best farmers markets in the city (year...More

Although the scenes in this area have changed over the past 15-20 years, there is still an enjoyable dingy quality to this area. Gentified store fronts mix with trashy run down stores barely hanging on. UDub is magnicifient though.

The UW is a gorgeous campus and not to be missed. Visit the Fry and Henry museums. The year round farmer’s market on Saturday is excellent. Lots of great ethnic food to be found. Be careful on the Ave.

The U district caters mainly to the UW students as the campus is next to it. There are lots of food outlets and the prices are rather reasonable. There are some interesting shops here too.

If you want to see the different neighborhoods, this is one to check out. I’d advise you take an Uber from your motel because parking is expensive and you might not want to even entertain the thought of leaving your car here. Like others have...More

Cool shops, great food options. Check out Morsel's biscuit shop (name explains it all) and Sureshot coffee if you like rock, pinball, and good coffee.

I stayed with some friends at an AIRBND in this neighborhood last week. The streets are dirty and homeless are everywhere begging for money. However, we did find some good inexpensive eats and the public transit accessibility is superb in this area, it was easy...More

Dirty and graffiti everywhere. I guess it'd be cool if I was a younger college student, but as an adult who lives in a beautiful larger city, I was dismayed at how dirty this area was.
