The U-District is a great place to go if you're hungry. There are some very good Indian restaurants, as well as good places for vegetarian food. Multiple places to find good coffee. And the people watching is always fun.

Good for college students, lots of food places in the Ave. Pho, Thai, Teriyaki, Gyros, Subway, etc. Would recommend Teriyaki 1st, and Thai 65, as well as Thaiger Room

I spent a week in the U-District at one of the nicer hotels. The best thing about the area is the tremendous variety of food available. I focused on the Indian, Middle Eastern, and Cajun restaurants. There are also many Asian, American, Greek, and fast food places. Many of the buildings are old and haven't been remodeled recently, so some... More

The University District is, not surprisingly, adjacent to the University of Washington's main campus. It's collection of shops and restaurants has the classic college town feel.

34 years ago when I went to the UW the U District and the Ave were a dump and not much has changed. China First, Finn MacCools, Bulldog News, Post Office, Magus Books, UW Bookstore, the oriental gift shop, Bartell Drugs, and the Neptune are all still there. I think it looks about the same...

The Seattle university district is a standard U district with a big variety of stores, restaurants, clubs, cinema, etc. The University Bookstore is on the main street, University Way, and there are galleries and museums in the adjacent university campus.

We found the area to be littered and dirty. Traffic was outrageous! Parking was difficult to find! Street people were everywhere! This neighborhood needs cleaning!

HIGH POINTS Friendly area with lots of activities, easy to get around. Good selection of eating places with inexpensive price points. Found staff in all the restaurants, hotels, area shops to be exceptionally friendly and helpful. LOW POINTS Predictable limited parking available

If you are ever bored this is a good place to go. Just wondering the streets, people watching, is surprisingly fun here. The place has an upbeat vibe that makes every visit different and fun. Once you get here there will be plenty to see and do. It's just a fun place to hang out!
