Stopped in for a brief walk through, the church is absolutely beautiful. It is open most of the day, there is someone giving tours there through out the day. there are a lot of steps to climb but there is a handicap entrance off the side. Wish we could have attended the mass.

Absolutely beautiful serene cathedral that played an important role in Seattle history! Designated as the city landmark, St. James Cathedral was constructed in 1903 and was formerly Seattle's tallest building. After the fall of its dome, the roof was reconstructed to have a skylight above the central altar, which created a majestic lighting upon the altar that seems to signify... More

We visited for the 10am mass on Sunday and the cathedral is beautiful. The choir was quite good. It's worth visiting even if there is not a scheduled mass. There was an empty crypt found underground near the center where the altar is found. It was found during a major renovation some years ago. It now holds the former archbishop... More

Beautiful Cathedral, lots of history, amazing choir. The Ambiance as soon as you step inside is profound. It's a good place to reflect even if you are not a Catholic.

The level of the choir is outstanding. Even regular Mass has beautiful music, but holidays, they pull out all the stops. Absolutely worth a visit on a Sunday morning to hear them sing.

Lovely old, Spanish colonial style cathedral. The choir sings at Sunday 10am Mass and was quite good.

I went for a photo shoot, lots of light coming in and sweet calmness. A great little courtyard for reflection too. I love Churches of all kinds. They have a little store, they're in downtown and its worth a visit for sure.

Beautiful beautiful beautiful cathedral! I was in awe when I walked inside! Very old school choir feel, but the priest which spoke after the gospel was very capturing on his sermon. I'd come back if I visit Seattle again!

People of all faiths are welcome to celebrate at St. James. The building is gorgeous and easy to find, look for the twin towers on the hill above Seattle's downtown. Just a short walk from most of the city, and every taxi driver knows the way. The choirs & musicians are wonderful, but for special occasions like Easter or Christmas,... More

We are locals and choose this completely based on TripAdvisor as something we hadn't seen that was indoors. What a treat! The cathedral is just stunning, I strongly recommend a quick visit.
