Cannot recommend visiting enough. Kids, grandparents and parents all LOVED it. Be sure to take good, comfortable shoes - you walk a long way. We did it in 7 hours (includes a short stop for lunch and ice creams) walking through at an average rate; so plan to spend the whole day there. Food was reasonably priced in the park. The setting and enclosures are extraordinary. Highly recommended a visit.

So impressed! Everything is so well thought out, from the magnificent enclosures to the animations. We could get close up to all animals and there were numerous areas to stop and take pictures.

Wow. This was such an incredible place to be! We loved how the zoo can be followed on two levels and when following the signs and the numbering around the zoo you can make sure you don't miss anything! I have to say that there were so many highlights to this zoo, even though there are not as many animals as you would normally expect for a zoo what you do see is unbeatable, The animals look healthy and lively a- this place really makes a big impact! We loved how you go through underground tunnels to get to various places, and coming out of one cave into the bird sanctuary was actually incredible - its like walking into another world where large beautiful birds fly freely, so many colours, sights and sounds to take in. Absolutely amazing. The animals are well fed, appear happy and content. I've never seen bats up close before - they are quite amazing to look at. The giraffes were also incredible coming close enough to the public to feed from their hands. What a joy! The Zoo is a really beautiful place to be and I can see it going from strength to strength. A wonderful day spent in a wonderful zoo parc. I'd definitely return for a second visit.

PS: There are many places to eat dotted around the zoo, but we didn't eat at any of them - apart from some ice-creams, so I can't vouch for the food. Plenty of seating and areas for picnics though.

Beautiful animal sanctuary. We went as a family with 2 adults and 3 older children last week. This is our 3 time and yet the park always surprises us. This park is a must for everyone. The animals are well treated and the structure in which they live is amazing. I particularly love the tunnels on a hot day. The kids loved the snow leopards, the lions, leopards and tortoises. One thing that I have to highlight reading other reviews is unlike other zoos where the animals are cramped this park gives the animals their natural habitat so sometimes they are camouflaged, hidden and a bit harder to see. I know the entrance can be a bit pricey but the park is involved in a lot of conservation projects. The visit also ends with a beautiful shop. We stopped along the way for coffee and waffles which were a bit expensive but nice. Well done on the zoo for the amazing work over the years. I recommend going in the morning as the animals tend to sleep in the afternoon.

This is a zoo in two halves and it’s quite easy to miss the second half.
You follow the signs round the zoo beneath ground level with loads of great things to see
and end up back by the giraffes and zebras.
Then, find the STAIRS UP TO GROUND LEVEL and follow this route to see more including the
weaver birds and the stunning new lion enclosure.
This is a brilliant zoo with lots of unusual animals and it’s worth checking your map to make sure you haven’t missed anything.
We first visited a few years ago and it turns out we only saw the downstairs half!
The inhabitants seem very well cared for and the birds seem to thrive having so much space to fly around in.
We’ve been to a lot of zoos and this one really is outstanding.
It’s fantastic for photography too, with great views of everything and no bars or fine mesh to ruin your photo’s.

Our second visit after six years and frankly disappointing. It was a very hot Saturday and full of families with young children who weren’t really into it! It’s a lovely big park with super display areas fashioned out of the old quarries making many of settings similar to areas where animals originated. We found the aviaries fabulous but too many of the four legged animals seemed absent although rhino and gazelles a joy.

Signage very good. Catering staff lovely food awful! And pricey!

Go mid week ….. get lunch before 1300….saunter and enjoy.

Probably the best zoo we have visited. Really well laid out with interesting subterranean levels where you can get very close to the animals. We had a great day and it was well worth the cost.

Visiting anywhere during these times is stressful and after going to a larger zoo earlier this month I was terrified of a repeat of that very stressful experience, thankfully it was an all together better experience.
My three year old daughter, husband and myself had a great experience and would go back again if we are back in the area.

The zoo is beautifully located and it has a free car park located just opposite the entrance to the zoo.

There seems to be a lot of systems put in place to help meet COVID-19 requirements, hand sanitizer units are located everywhere and a markers and barriers to try and keep a one way system for social distancing. Most of the adult visitors were wearing masks which was nice to see as well.

There are maps located all around the zoo, be prepared for a bit of walking if you want to see everything.
Almost the whole park seems to be stroller and wheel chair friendly and I did notice electric scooters available to hire.

The restaurants had vegetarian options, I cant tell you how excited that made me. Most of the eating areas are outside, but they are undercover and you have an amazing view of the enclosures.

You seem to be a lot closer to the animals, making viewing much easier. It was great not need lifting up my daughter constantly so she could see everything.

The toilets weren't great, the cubicles were very small which made it difficult when your with a small child.
