Pretty!

It was so pretty. It was supposed to be a drive by with the family, but we had to stop and take pics!

Spectacular beauty, great trails and inexpensive. Hike, bike or take an ATV. Nice quiet piece,of Alaska wilderness. What's not to like?

We walked, biked, and landed on a lake in a float plane. it was an amazing experience for two semi-middle-aged people celebrating our 50th. What a great place to celebrate.

I've been to Elkutna lake several times and it never seems to fail me on how beautiful it really is! I go here often to get outside for a while and give my child and dog a break from the local parks around town. There is a great walking path; I haven't done the entire path yet, due to a... More

We also camped one night, it was really nice. Even though the campsite's were all full, it never felt that way. The... More

I've kayaked the lake before and it is gorgeous. This time we hiked Twin Peaks Trail. It is pretty steep but the fall colors are magnificent. Keep going until you reach the beach with a great overlook. We didn't see any wildlife but it is an optimal location for them.

Lake Eklutna is a glacier fed lake that is popular for kayaking and paddle boarding. No motorized vehicles allowed. It is best to go in the morning when the lake is calm.
