Excellent tourist attraction

Well worth the trip to this attraction. The train ride is enjoyable and the museum exhibits are well laid out. There is also a small gift shop selling reasonably priced souvenir

The younger kids seemed to enjoy the museum more. The train ride was nice; I just hated that some people in the back were talking during the history lesson. We rode in the covered car that was heated because it was windy and cold outside and had started drizzling. I'll visit again when they connect the other side of the... More

While in town from Omaha visiting friends in Henderson, NV, my wife and I had a chance to visit the Nevada State Railroad Museum in Boulder City about 25 minutes away. It was a beautiful November morning about 9:30 on a Monday, so despite being open, we were the only visitors there, and somewhat "exclusive." They have a nice but... More

We've driven past this attraction a few times over the years but finally decided to check it out. It was a Sunday so the Sante Fe train tour was running - altho we did not take the ride. It seems that the entire place is run by Volunteers - and they're some of the friendliest you'll meet anywhere. The Museum... More

It's fun to go through the trains, I never knew about the Railroad Post Office til I went here, it was a treat. It's a must stop for train enthusist or children. They have a great model railroad they've been working on for ten years! It's quirky and awesome and in a railcar so its a train in a train.... More

We had a great time at the museum, we rode the excursion, looked at the equipment. It as a great ride, you can even ride in the caboose, or in the locomotive! They even have a program where you can operate the locomotive on week days! I will definitely be back, great folks, nicest staff. I am glad we added... More

We visited the Nevada State Railroad Museum in Boulder City, We were the only ones there. We thought the variety of train cars one could see was quite good. Its free to visit. They do provide for one to give a donation. Some of our favorite things to see were; 1) The Engines 2) Reading about the Run Away Train... More

Visited the Nevada State Railroad Museum a couple of times on this visit to Vegas. The staff are extremely friendly and enjoy talking about the different railroad engines, train cars, and equipment. Can't miss the train ride on the 100+/- train car. Only a 4 mile ride but not expensive and the people on the train are really fun. Would... More

Turned up on a Friday morning. No staff there - no other people there - but it was great. Had been to the Hoover dam and wanted to do something other than head back to Vegas. Loved the railway post office exhibit - and I spent a good hour or so wandering around. As a bonus the bathrooms were unlocked... More

Nice set up to the location. They have a maintenance yard across the street. Well maintained area as are the trains themselves. If you love trains like I do then you need to come here and see. Check the website for the train running schedule.
