My favorite spot in the Old Market district. Relaxing and great service. Nice little patio area out front to people watch and chat. Gonna be there this weekend for the College World Series.

When I heard about this bar I seriously couldn't wait to see it. I'm a huge book nerd and love bars that aren't the cookie cutter bar and Mister Toad does not disappoint. The atmosphere is unique, the seating is unique, the decor is unique; I just loved it all. There are stain glass windows and book shelves everywhere. I expected us to just stop since I was the only one in the group that was really looking forward to seeing this bar but everyone else loved it so much we ended up staying for a few hours. I would say this is a must see for everyone, even if you just want to swing in and have a beer and then go - it's worth the stop!

We were walking by and I saw bookshelves in a bar. My husband said, well, that's the place for us! Very cute place, seemed a bit understaffed but friendly. I had a Pimms Cup, which is always appreciated. The music was great (Squeeze other than Tempted!) The books were only old law sets, though. Sad!

We read about this place and thought it looked so interesting and cool. We wanted to be sure to catch it when we visited the Old Market area. We went around 3:30 or 4 right after it opened. There was no one else in there except the bar tender who seemed disinterested in us. He wasn’t really paying attention and even gave me the wrong beer originally. He only started showing some “enthusiasm” when a group of other people (presumably locals who he knew) came in and then he suddenly perked up and asked if we were ok several times and all that. It was a really cool environment with a lot of beer choices but overall I wasn’t really impressed.

When a friend said we MUST have the special coffee and to request extra cherries in it, we did and man, were we glad we did. You can get it hot or cold, just be sure to savor it and save the cherries for last. Great place, fun location, pleasant atmosphere on the street corner. Watch for the clown riding the motorcycle in full clown gear - wish I'd been quick enough to get his picture. Fun place

Very friendly staff, comfortable atmosphere, and affordable beverages. We sat outdoors each visit, the server is prompt, friendly, and accommodating! You know it's a great place when you return several times during your weekend visit. Located on a shady, active corner in the Old Market area, it's a perfect place to relax, socialize, and people watch!

If i could give no rating I would. Out of town family at lunch in the old market. It did not open until 1.00. We waited at BBC 1.00 some one came out slammed and locked door. Saying they are setting up the bar. She cleaned outdoor tables, but wouldn't let us in! :(

When in the Old Market, Mr. Toad is a great place to stop for a drink and to people watch. Our small group got right in and seated around 9:00 on a Friday evening. I've been stopping here for many years and this time, I wanted others in my group to experience the place.
There was a bouncer at the door but he didn't seem to be real busy. For some reason, it was a super slow Friday night. We stayed long enough for a few drinks, some photo opportunities, and a few laughs. We then headed right across the street to our hotel.
This place's location is great. In the summer, sit outside and enjoy great people watching.
Mr. Toad is a low-key place. If you like fancy, you may not appreciate it. If you like laid-back, you need to stop here.

The outdoor seating area at Mr. Toads is the best place in Omaha's Old Market to people watch. On a nice evening, you can't beat sitting outside and watching all types of interesting people stroll by.
