Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lincoln SP campground
Pros:
Convenient location for visiting Lincoln historic sites
Clean bathhouse
Water at each campsite
Cons:
Water spigot in some cases long way from camper connection. Some folks anticipated this and had long connection hoses.

Very clean bathroom and clean primitive camp site! Very friendly staff. The park has a small, clean, beach where you can rent kayaks and pedal boats! DNR patrols regularly. Great park!

Lincoln State Park is located across the road from Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial. It offers camping and other outdoor activities. We visited to see two Lincoln attractions. The first one is a memorial which was place in celebration of the Bicentennial of Lincoln's birth. The memorial features a half statue of Lincoln. It has quotes on stones sign, and markers depicting the direction to Washington, DC, and Springfield IL. It is an interesting memorial, worth the trip of you are interested in Lincoln history.
Also contained in the park is the site of Sarah Lincoln's grave. It is near the original site of the Little Pigeon Baptist Church, which Lincoln and his father helped to build. It is tradition to put a penny on her grave, which is why you will see so many stacked around it. The park charges a $9 per car fee to enter if you are from out of state. They do accept credit cards.

We seen a skunk, several pileated woodpeckers (we sat and watched them for quite a while) and deer. To chilly to see the snakes out yet. We hiked back to Weber's Pond and the sound of the toads was amazing. I would recommend that hike.

The employee at the entrance said he was new and really didn't know anything. Unless it was your first day I would say your job is to become familiar with what the park has to offer and where things are. I asked for directions for the gravesite and he really didn't know he gave us a map. It did not help very much and after a while of driving around, seeing everything closed and a quick stop at the museum we decided to just leave and not look anymore. The beach area was closed but we saw paddle boats that could have been rented. The museum is extremely small. We had been greeted by a park ranger but they were not very helpful. The table of items was too full and descriptions of many were missing, this would have been great if the park ranger would have taken time to interact with the two children we had. There were some copies of coloring pages and a hiking scavenger hunt that was really neat! Other than that it was not worth a stop.

The Lincoln historic sites were the draw for me, but now that I'm familiar with the camping, hiking, boating, fishing, paddling and golf the area offers, I can recommend the park for all those as well. The group cottages were available to individual campers when I visited: basic, clean and safe, and unbelievably reasonably priced.

This park is so beautiful! There are some historical spots to visit too, and a place to camp along with a lake to play in.

The Lincoln State Park is a beautifully maintained park with an amazing amphitheater that seats quite a lot of people! Although I am unsure as to the exact seating capacity, I have attended events held there, and it has always given me a great pleasure to see such a fine facility in such a beautiful State Park!

One more question. Is the one bed a double or a queen? We need to bring the right sized sheets and the website says double...but one reviewer said it was a queen.

In hospitality rooms are referred to the amount of beds in the room, not particularly the size of bed. For example a double room has two beds, but they could be queens, fulls, or even twins. A double double room has two double beds. A double queen has two queens.
In this case, plan for queen beds.

Does the bathroom have a tub and shower or just a shower? Do you have any photos of the inside? We rented one for later this Fall.

Sorry, but we didn't use the facilities on our visit. I'm certain if you visit the website that you could find that information there. It's a lovely place to visit with lots of places nearby too.

Is it $9 per person or per car?

Actually, I was attempting to visit a Civil War site and I did not have to pay at that entrance. However, I believe it's $9 per car not $9!apiece.
