Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Right from the very first communication Fjallhalla was responsive and kind and able to get everything we needed within a very short timeline. I was planning a team offsite and we had to adjust our agenda many times and had not been able to confirm a team outing.

They were communicative, helpful and honest with what they were able to do.

When the evening came for our northern lights tour we had arranged for pick up at 21:30 and the sun had not even set. Olaf, our guide, offered to take us to our hotel which was in the Golden Circle area. There my team changed into warmer clothes and enjoyed a few cocktails. He kindly waited in the parking lot with hot cocoa blankets and delicious Icelandic cookies. At 23:00 we headed out to the van, and the guide was very honest that the probability had decreased and we may not be able to see anything that evening. We decdied since we were up anyways it was worth a shot.
He was very persistent stopping in locations (I got to pet an Icelandic Horse!) where we got an amazing view of the most stars i have ever seen.
Keeping an eye on the horizon and driving us the Kerid Crater where he proudly got to announce "We have lights!" They are very hard to see with the blind eye but we began to take some long exposure photos and dancing in front of our eyes was an amazing, once in a lifetime show.
Everyone returned invigorated and excited for the next day. Thank you so much

I had an amazing hiking experience in really bad weather conditions on 13 of June 2022 whilst staying at Ion Adventure Hotel Nesjavellir.
A company called Fjallhalla sent me a very capable and skilled guide Vìfill Traustason who got me to the highest peak of Hengill mountain, Vörou-Skeggi (803 m). I had never traversed snow before and by the end of the hike I could go up and down as well as handle the the slopes whilst crossing snow. None of this would have been possible if Vìfill had not chosen the correct routes and transferred his skills so successfully.
The wind, rain and poor visibility added to the spirit of the adventure and added depth. I felt very safe in the knowledge that my guide was constantly monitoring the weather conditions and would not put me in danger.

We booked our glacier hike from Fjallhalla adventures website. Erla was very attentive and she kept us informed about the information prior to the meet-up. Our tour guide was Yandy and he’s made our guide so customised for our liking. We were a group of three who like to hike/walk in general so glacier hiking was a real treat thanks to him. Yandy rerouted the tour for us as we wanted to walk further out in the glacier. Overall we are happy with the experience and hope to have a return for ice climbing next time we are in Iceland.

The Company was Super! Accommodated a guided hike that was not on their regular list and gave us the best guide we could have ever asked for! It was a bucket list hike for me - once in a lifetime experience! Stunning views! Having our guide with us meant everything, as some of the path was very close to cliff edge and some areas quite steep. Our guide meant we didn’t have to stress that we weren’t on the right trail or that we could be unsafe beyond the natural dangers of cliffside hiking. I could just focus on following his lead and enjoying the thrilling experience! It’s a luxury to be sure, but worth every krona!! I will never forget!!

Our family of 4 (2 young adult kids) just returned from a 3 week trip to Iceland. One of the highlights, without a doubt, was our overnight guided Fimmvorduhals hike in early September. We don’t usually do guided hikes. However, we were looking for a group (versus private) overnight trip because we wanted to spend some extra time in Thorsmork and needed help with all the logistics of that type of trip. It was well worth it! Erla was so accommodating, patient, helpful and flexible!
Our friendly guide Orri was experienced, knowledgable and fun. He joined us for the monster truck ride and took us hiking in the afternoon around Basar hut. He made us a fantastic plentiful dinner and also provided a delicious breakfast and picnic lunch on the next day's hike. The next morning we hiked to Skogar, which was amazing! The pace was perfect (~9hrs) - we never felt rushed and had time to really enjoy the fabulous scenery.
We felt very comfortable, safe and well taken care of the whole time. I highly recommend Fjallhalla Adventures and hope to use them again someday!

The four of us had an excellent trip with Fjallhalla Adventures. We chose to do the Fimmvorduhals hike in one day, even though the company advertises the tour as a two day trip. The company was very gracious in accommodating us in doing this trip in one day (I’ve looked around and this VERY uncommon with almost all other tour operators). It also is very difficult to do on your own with transportation logistics. Not only did this company provide transport and guide, but also arranged for a delicious barbecue lamb dinner after the hike. Thanks again for a great trip! Highly recommend

We chose Fjallhalla for the Fimm trek based on reviews and interaction with Erla.

Unfortunately one of our party had an issue before the walk and we had to cancel.

Erla was professional, courteous and helpful and arranged a full refund immediately.

I was very impressed with all my dealings with Erla and Fjallhalla and would not hesitate to book with them.

Personally I deeply regret that we didn't get to do this

It was convenient that I was allowed to meet the group at Landvegamót since I was staying nearby in the town Selfoss but a transport from Reykjavik was available and everything was very fair priced.
Erla is the one who arranged everything (perfectly I might add) but our guides Hermann & Karolina were amazing through the whole trip.
The hike up this active volcano went very smoothly, I learned a lot, felt together with the group and had fun the whole time!

I really recommend this (eco) tour agency!

We used Fjallhalla for a group hiking tour in the highlands in August 2021. From pre-trip to end-of-trip, we had wonderful customer service. Erla and her team went above and beyond for our group. We will 100% use Fjallhalla again next year and highly recommend anyone reading this do the same. Thanks for a great trip!

My boyfriend and I went on the 3 day tour guided by Erla. She’s a warm, knowledgeable, and passionate guide. We highly recommend all to take a tour with her.

The intinerary is well organized, packed with adventurous activities, and great accomodations. It was incredibly convenient that pick up and drop off is included. Whenever there was extra time, she would suggest we stop by places that aren’t part of the trip and ask for our opinions. It was nice to have that extra little flaire. She entertained us on the bus with folklore and Icelandic music. It is evident that she genuinely cares for everyone in the tour.

Some of the highlights are the waterfalls, glacier hike, glacial cave, black sand beach, Diamond beach, and glacial lagoon. Thank you so much for leading a wonderful trip. We look back at Iceland fondly.
