We visited Iceland in the winter - which means it's cold, windy, and often rainy. Seljavallalaug, as far as I'm aware, isn't that popular an attraction, but the day we went there was practically nobody there. When you arrive in a car park at the...More

Take my advice... visit Seljavallalaug first thing in the morning. It was the best decision we made during our entire trip in Iceland. We arrived at 6 am and got the pool all to ourselves. The moment was magical - sun peaking, mist over the...More

While I did not swim because it looked to be filled with algae, I was glad I hiked back to this secret swimming hole with my friend. It is located in a beautiful setting with mountains on both side, clinging to the base of a...More

I caught a bit of a cold and it was 40deg F when we arrived, so I decided not to change to get in. My friends did, and they regret it. The changing rooms were filthy and they did everything they could to avoid touching...More

This beauty is tucked away in the valley and hidden in the mountain. Well that said it does attract a lot of tourists! If you want some lone time then early bird gets the worm. I went there about 7 AM and there was only...More

This was a cool place to visit. The walk up is along a river that has some beautiful sights and is worth the walk. The pool itself was warm and had a neat view. Sadly, the amount of tourists are ruining the location. There was...More

You could visit one of the modern public pools along the way(every town has one). They offer showers as well as more modern hot and cold pools, saunas and steam baths.
