Iceland is full of amazing waterfalls, this is neither the largest nor the highest. But this definitely the most scenic...Do go behind the waterfall to get a different view...

We did a day trip that stopped at Skogofoss and we loved it (even though it can be a little crowded). I would highly recommend heading up the stair on the right-hand side to get an awesome view over the waterfall and the surrounding area

Skogafoss means Forest Waterfall. During winter the slopes are icy and very chilly going close to the waterfall. Make sure you wear warm and waterproof clothes are highly recomended and have shoes with sturdy soles.

Allow enough time (if desired) to hike up to the top of the falls for a different view. Since we visited in Dec. the daylight hours were short. After the drive there and some other stops we didn't have enough daylight time to do that...More

One of my first experiences visiting a waterfall and it didn't disappoint! You can get very close (with caution of course!) which was good. There are also some steps up the side of one of the hills which means you can get a good aerial...More

Walk all the way to the top - it is worth it! Amazing views, and nice food in the restaurant at the bottom.

We’ve loved how easy it is to access some of the gorgeous falls from the road. Because we were wet from our first waterfall stop, we opted not to take the stairs up to peer over the falls. But even from the parking lot this...More

Waterfalls are indispensable element of Icelandic landscapes and Skogafoss is probably one of the most emblematic of them. Definitely worth a stop, can be combined with a visit to the Black Sand beach. Easy reachable from Reykjavik. The best view to the fall is from...More

The fall is very close to the ring road, so the access should be available. From the parking is only a few meters on foot to the waterfall

Hello there. There is no overnight parking on Skogáfoss. There are signs everywhere that warn you parking after 7:00PM is prohibited. There are, however, a campsite and a hotel in the vicinity, just minutes away from the... More
