Welcome to Harvard Square

Each year, over 8 million men, women and children visit Harvard Square. Visitors come for a variety of reasons; this is a place of history, of books, of ideas, and of learning. It is a place of bookstores and coffee houses, of fine dining and eclectic shopping. It is a place of folk music and old theaters, of Cuban ballet and world-class music, of street-performers and award-winning pizza, of public discourse, and public art. Whatever brings you here, we welcome you and hope you enjoy your stay.

Interesting place

Worth the walk if you are staying in the area. About what you'd expect for college town. The whole area is historic and has atmosphere.

Kiosk, and pit best place to hang out. Buy world magazines, journal and newspapers. Everyone must stop by there once in their lifetime

We had a great time walking the square, checking out the Harvard Co Op, eating at John Harvard's Brewery & Ale House, and grabbing some sweets at Mike's Pastries!

This is very small area but the heart of Cambridge. They have a Curious George Store so if you have kids check it out! There's some cute little restaraunts and great Harvard buildings

We stumbled into a small eatery called Flat Patties (33 Brattle St) which has no website that I could find, but the pub lunch food and low prices were a pleasant surprise. Hamburgers in the $4-6 range, grilled chicken sandwich for $4, Yuengling lager pint for $3.

There are restaurants and stores but nothing exceptional. The grave yard and old church are interesting but most of the "square" is just commercial.
