This is a wonderful, family friendly establishment dedicated to getting people out and enjoying the serene beauty of the Charles River. They can start you out on highly stable recreational vehicles and you can move up as your comfort level grows. Each of the 4 CRCC locations offers something a little different. This is by far the most scenic. It... More

You entered one tent after another with people who knew what they were doing. The process from filling out forms to getting into the canoe with water bottles and waterproof sacks. The process went oh so so smoothly. The Charles River has so much to see on it . It was a great adventure and good exercise.

My wife and I own a pair of 14ft kayaks in Rhode Island. We both work in Boston and I actually work just down the street from the Charles River Canoe and Kayak in Kendell Square (I walk right by them everyday to and from work). We decided to rent a double kayak from them in order to watch the... More

They are very organized. Permits were all quickly filled out and signed. We all had kayaked before. I could see for the inexperienced they were giving instructions. Gear was quickly given out to 5 of us and I think we were paddling in 15 minutes. They helped us roll into them. We paddled upstream 1 st and it was a... More

We had a great time kayaking the Charles. Learning about Boston and Cambridge. Our guide was Michelle. Very seasoned. Very patient. Very, very nice. We were given pre-trip and scenario training. The dock hands were great. Everything was comfortable and CLEAN! There were 7 in our group: 4 adults, 3 teens, and 1 ten year old. We loved our experience!... More

Paddling on the Charles gives both locals and visitors a unique view of the city of Boston. Rentals are easy, inexpensive, and include everything you'll need for a fun few hours paddling the river. When leaving from the Kendall Square location the only thing to be aware of are the other boats. Be sure to give way to motorized boats... More

Great experience with this company. They have everything you need for a great unguided trip on the river. They made sure we were well fitted with life jackets and helped us in and out of boat. We wanted a canoe but they said it was too windy, and once out on the river we were glad they made us take... More

If you're looking for something fun to do during the summer, you should definitely check out Charles River Canoe & Kayak. The kayaking is pretty easy, and there are also options to rent a canoe or a stand-up paddleboard. Furthermore, if you really enjoy kayaking on the Charles, they also offer season passes which gives you unlimited rentals!

I've been to the Kendall Square location twice now - once last year and once this year. I had the same pleasant experience both times! They accept credit cards (huge plus), have dry bags you can rent for a dollar, and have good equipment as far as I know. I rented a one-person kayak both times and had a lot... More
