Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We visit this Castle on 17.02.20, and it does have a nice external view.
The side exposed to the sea offers a good prespective and some nice photos
Nothing of great importance to see inside.
It is well located just next to the Cathedral.

If you like castles this is a really great one because you get to see basically the whole thing. There is a brief video with English subtitles but not much signage after that. When I went in June 2022 I was the only one there so it was cool to have a whole castle to myself.

Unique hisotrical structure 800 years old. Served as prison for some of the Red Brigade people recently but now restored partly and will be restored continuously.

The castle is big and beautiful form outside. Inside is empty. You walk through the empty rooms. There is nothing to see beside the sea.

Really disappointed with this so called castle, it was completely modern inside, had been done up with clean new walls and windows everywhere and the rooms were set up more like conference rooms with modern chairs everywhere. No fun castle features, no info inside or exhibits and nothing to explore, not even a good view so don't waste 3 euros going inside. If you want to go to a cool castle go to Castel del Monte!

Trani is a very pretty place with a lovely marina and historic cathedral and castle. The castle is most interesting having been built by Fredrick II who was a prolific constructor castles in Puglia in 1200s. This castle has seen a range of uses including a major upgrade and changes in 16th century when cannon and muskets became part of warfare. Later the castle became a prison before being restored - it is under major restoration during our visit. Definitely buy an audio guide as it tells you lots of history. Recommended if you come to Trani.

The castle is some old empty rooms and lots of building work. We didn't gain anything from the visit. If it were free, it would be quite interesting, but not worth an entrance fee (even 5 euros).

While I was not able to go inside, walking around gave you the feeling of what it took to construct this place. It is currently being renovated on the outside but you can still see and understand the work that went into building the castle.

Amazing views all around and a must see while in Trani.

if you are in trani you have to visit it, however, a lot of it has been converted to offices and venues for exhibitions. It has been modernised, unless the original builders were good with double glazing! Their are no views from the upper area of the castle as it is closed off.

If you have lots of time and are a real caste or history buff, you may choose to tour the castle. Otherwise, you can spend your time and money elsewhere. There is little to see
