About
La Pelosa is an excellent beach for swimming. Its clear, tranquil waters stay at knee height a far way out from shore. The waters are perfect for windsurfing and kite surfing, too, when the wind gets going. Either way, be sure to watch out for jellyfish and sharp rocks. Get to La Pelosa early in the day as it’s bound to get crowded. You’ll need to book ahead for ticketed access to the beach in the warmer months. Get the bus from Stintino village, or book a boat tour to soak in the views from out on the water.

The beach is beautiful, but to enjoy its beauty, you need to be there in the low season. During the high season, every inch of the sand is covered with umbrellas, and hundreds of people are sitting or walking in the shallow waters.
Entrance is limited, and you need to book the tickets well in advance. We tried to book around the 8th of August, a week ahead, and the nearest free dates were 30.08.
Finding a place to park close to the beach could be a challenge, and even if you find it - you need to pay 2,50 EUR per hour. There is a large car park up the hill, but you need to walk down the hill to the beach, and up the steep road on your way back. And it costs 10 EUR no matter how long you park there.

Having said all that, it is still possible to see this beach;
1. Entrance is free after 6 p.m.
2. And you can always get to the beach by water from any of the neighbouring locations (La Pelosetta beach for instance). Of course, you won't be able to transfer your stuff this way, but if you want just to see the place - this is the best way.

This is a very popular tourist destination, there is a paid car parking area that was super busy. There is a restaurant on the beach front that is part of a hotel, along with a grass area with sun beds on it, they only served over priced cold sandwiches around lunch time and the staff there were not particularly friendly or welcoming. You couldn't see the beach as every inch of it was filled with people. We avoided the super busy sections and sat on the rocks instead. The sea was beautiful colours and calm. We swam to the island with the old navy tower on it. Be careful of the seabed as there are a lot of really sharp rocks (we both cut our feet!) so I would advise wearing sea shoes or something to protect your feet.
I can certainly see the appeal, but it was far too crowded for us to feel relaxed or enjoy the beauty of this area and there are plenty more secluded, quieter and equally beautiful beaches in Sardinia.

One the very best beaches in Sardinia, definitely worth the visit, but you need to think in advance. Book a visit one week in advance, buy a straw mat in supermarkets to save the money (even if you won't use it) and prepare to pay €30 for double bed with umbrella. Parking is brutal if come late and then a long walk to the beach. The beach is crowded, but there is a limit of 1500 people - that is why advance booking is needed. If all that does not put you away you will be rewarded with turquoise water, white sand and perfect photos. Beach bars accept cash only, but there are few restaurants with fantastic views on the surrounding hills overlooking Pelosa beach.

Hi everyone, i've been in Sardinia since when i was 2 years old and i do love that place, but...... La Pelosa beach is crazy beautiful, the water's colors are breathtaking but I had a really bad surprise one week ago when i went there.. you must pay 3,50 euro each person if you want to walk on La pelosa's sand, and if you want to hang over there you must have a straw mat under your beach towel (you can easily buy it over there for about 15 euro).
plus you have to pay the parking.
well..that would be 18,50 euro just to hang out there, plus the parking cost, ( let's say about 6 euro)...honestly it is not right that we have to pay so much money just to hang out on a public beach.. i was with my boyfriend, imagine a family of 4 member, it would be a rip off.
beside of all this, the beach is amazing.

Beatiful piece of nature. However ruined by the business running the beach. Pay for reservations online, pay for parking, arrive at the beach, pay €30 for 2 sunbeds + umbrella. However cash only, and no way to withdraw money except for 5KM back in Stintino centre. Luckily we had an umbrella of our own in the car, so went to lie down on our towels on the sand. 5 minutes later some security guy comes running telling us we need some kind of plastic sheet to go under our towel as it is prohibited from touching the sand directly. Never heard of such a rule my entire life. Of course, this can be bought at the info point.

Long story short: it’s all about thinking of new ways to grab your money. As beautiful as the water is, its not worth the hassle. We highly advise not to go here and find another (free) beach close-by, such as della pelosetta.

Extremely massive and crowded beach.
It seems that you have to make a reservation online and pay and entrance fee + the parking (2 or 3 euros per hour). There are also many restaurants on the beach and almost everything was covered by umbrellas and sunbeds.
Water is nice and all but this beach is just too massive for me.

A beautiful beach although a lot of people in summer. You have to make a reservation on a webpage prior to going because authorities are limiting the number of people. The water is awesome and the white sand gives you a Caribbean impression.

The biggest negative of the beach is number of people. It gets very crowded early on (Saturday in July). I recommend to arrive very early, at 8AM minimum, to be able to find a bood place for parking and good place on the beach. Expect an expensive parking for a whole day. At 10AM the beach was totally full with very little free space. This is not the beach fault, but some people can be very rude, taking space of 4x4 meters and having a tent there.

Be careful to have a reservation online, otherwise you might not get in. Yet we saw people who got in anyway... You can get in without reservation only after 6PM. And also don't forget to buy a straw mat for 5EURO, or buy one in Stintino centre for less. Otherwise local "rangers" wil force you to buy it. They went a few times to check the beach during a whole day.

The positives are that the beach is beautiful with amazing water. In the morning it was very windy and the beach got some nice waves. In the shalow water there is enough space to go. Sand is soft, and the beach is very clean, no garbage around.

One big snack bar (Bar I Ginepri - this one is actually quite good) and one very small are available. WC available for free at the check in area.

And also there are no salespeople walking on the beach and offering their goods.

The beach is absoukteky breathtaking! The crystal blue water against the mountains and rocks makes for glorious backdrop with many photo opportunities. If you go and climb a short pathway down to the beach to the left, there are no mats required nor payment. The beach does get very crowded so arrive early. The resturant there on the beach is amazing with beautiful views and delicious food! The experience that left us very frustrated and unhappy is that we paid to park 9 Euros (by license plate) and because we took the pay stub with us and did not place it on the windshield, they fined us!! The parking attendants were rude and insistent even though I had paid until 17:45 (5:45pm) and we left at 16:00l (4:00pm) and had my pay stub to prove it… I was forced to pay 15 more Euros on the spot or 20 Euros by mail. They do not know how to be polite, they yell and certainly take advantage of travelers. No where on the ticket does it say to place the stub on your windshield!! So if you go … don’t fall into their tourist trap!

Aggressive Texas ranger rules the beach. La Pelosa is good for children due to its swallow waters. Not worth the overcrowded experience and the “fee” that is applied for showers and bathrooms outside the beach, while the administration collects indeed to allow entrance. Nothing special compared to other magnificent beaches in Sardinia.
