The website is a little confusing, but the John Wickham house is a portion of the overall museum complex known as The Valentine in Richmond. John Wickham was a contemporary of John Marshall, but Wickham continued in lucrative private law practice and his opulent home...More

Being new to Richmond, I liked seeing the history of the city. The exhibits were like the best 'This American Life' episodes-- engaging stories about interesting people.

We especially enjoyed the photos of military personnel taken recently holding picture of themselves when they were in the military. We attended a dinner in the museum which stayed open for our enjoyment.,

The exhibition on men's clothing in Virginia was outstanding and worth the museum's admission cost by itself. Where else will you get to see a vintage leisure suit, tailored by Richmond icon Franco Ambrogi no less? The pieces reflect a worthy cross-section of Richmond clothing...More

This museum is full of Richmond's past and treasures and taught us something new on each row of exhibits. But what we went to see was the Wickham House. One of the most opulent 'in town' houses we've ever seen for the period. Lovingly restored...More
