My husband was an intern at the War Memorial and I was participating in the annual 5K race. The exhibits are very interesting and touching. Seeing the pictures of all of the young men and women who have died to protect our freedom is an emotional experience but also makes you proud that there are people in our country who... More

A place to go and pay tribute to our military men and women who have given the ultimate sacrifice in protecting our country. The wall of honor is a somber walk but reminder of those who raised their hand and took the oath for our country. The museum covers Virginia history and the docents are very knowledgeable.

I spent an entire day here on a work retreat, so I was able to see everything inside and on the grounds of the Memorial. There are numerous historic artifacts of Virginia military history and touching tributes to those who sacrificed their lives for our freedom. The views are spectacular and it's an incredible asset for Richmond. It's a must... More

Greeted by helpful staff who discussed the history of the memorial. The archways and presentation of the service members lost in conflict was solemn and very dignified. The grounds were well maintained, easy to navigate with pleasant views of surrounding Richmond area. Inside the main building an intriguing personal collection of war time memorabilia. Location is easy to find with... More

Good video explaining why Veterans serve to protect our freedoms. Free to the public. Volunteers are very friendly and eager to share information. One is a veteran that had to crawl out onto the tail wing of a WWII bomber to bail out.

This is such a touching war memorial - a beautiful tribute to our fallen heroes. It is also an exceptional venue for weddings and other events. They are so accommodating, service is exceptional. The venue itself is gorgeous - I attending a wedding and reception here, and loved it! The view from the amphitheater is breathtaking, and the reception under... More

This Memorial is in remembrance of fallen Virginians who fought in Wars from WWII forward. It is free and open to the public for viewing. Inside the visitor center is a museum with a vast collection of hand-painted soldiers from many different wars, a model aircraft, a theater with different documentaries of the wartime efforts and so much more. There... More

I was surprised at how large the museum is, and how worth a visit. There are volunteers there (I think) who are happy to offer tours. The outside area with the large statue and the flame are quite lovely, and the views are stunning. Very much worth a visit.

Truly awe inspiring. Even in the city there is such a sense calm, respect and reverence for those, that this memorial is dedicated to.

Much more than we expected. If you are into military items, they have a fantastic collection of uniforms and weapons from all eras. Definitely worth the stop.
