    Interesting visit.
Worth a look around. If you get the chance do the behind the scenes tour. Costs about five Euros extra, but you get a guide explaining how the place runs and a chance to look at the fish being fed from the top of the large tank. The tour from what I remember is only twice a day, but if it ties in with your visit it is worth considering. Also good bad weather option.

Visit to the national aquarium of Malta
On my holiday to Malta I took a trip to Maltas national aquarium. That is built on the stunning coast of malta. With views of the Malta coast and Mediterranean sea. The aquarium is built to look like a star fish. The aquarium is pack full of sea life for you see and explore. From all the 7 sea of the world. The best thing at the aquarium is the glass roof tunnel where you can walk through. The tunnel walk through makes you feel like you under water in the ocean. Don't worry they have sharks for you to see in the glass roof tunnel. There is a restaurant there for you to get some food and drink alongside a gift shop. There is also a cafe and kid park out the side aquarium that's over looks stunning Malta coast and the Mediterranean sea. I would highly recommend it a visit to national aquarium of Malta.

    The Nicest Little Aquarium!
Our boat tour was cancelled due to high winds so we visited the aquarium and took the behind the scenes tour. The aquarium was well organized, very family friendly, and the tour was very informative. I especially liked the fact that they had a display featuring women scientists. The shark tunnel was great too!

    Underwhelming
We enjoyed about 2hrs here, while the aquarium was nice I was underwhelmed and expecting more. Our UK aquarium are the same size if not bigger. There were some more usual fish and we lovely the jelly fish section. It was very busy and hard to move around at times. There's a nice play park outside.

    Wonderful aquarium
Wonderful aquarium with many interesting sea creatures and reptiles. Especially enjoyed the tunnel to walk through. Lots of information to read on the way round. A very pleasant way to spend 1 or 2 hours. Lovely gift shop at the end. What will stay with me was a note on one of the videos which said that once the earth was covered by sea and that there is nothing to stop that happening again…. Nature does not need us but we need nature!….Very true, makes you think.

    Great museum!
We loved this museum. Filled with beautiful animals and fish. The condition of the museum is impeccable, it is very clean and above all very beautiful. There were people, but it was decent. We were able to admire everything in time. It's to be done in Malta without a doubt!

    Brilliant start to our holiday
We checked into our hotel in Qawra but our room was ready so we walked to the aquarium and spent a couple of hours looking at the fish etc., it was a great place to visit, you learn about Malta and it’s wildlife. It is well run, and clean. Usual gift shop which seemed to be reasonably priced.

    Small but decent aquarium
It is a small aquarium and kind of expensive relative to its size. If you have small children then this is a good visit because you can tour it in an hour and the kids will be entertained. I would have liked something more unique or something to make this place stand out more. Alltogether it is a decent visit and would recommend to visit once if you have spare time in Malta.

A very nice place to bring all ages very kid friendly with a great view.
I upgraded to add the behind the scenes tour and enjoyed this and how friendly all the workers I interacted with during my tour. The spaces are clean and the sea animals are well cared for and healthy. This is geared for all ages and is family friendly and can be done in an hour with the behind the scenes adding another 30 min. I also enjoyed the store at the end and they had many national geographic items which are high quality games, shirts, gifts with local gifts and my favorite was a book on Malta. I stopped to enjoy the view which is overlooking the ocean and a great place to stop for a meal or dessert. I did enjoy eating the halloumi salad and a berry shake and I recommend you stop at the dessert window with many great treats.

    Aquarium
A small aquarium with a variety of species of sea life and some reptiles. If you want you can pay additional money so that they give you a mini tour and explain how they prepare the food and how they feed the animals. The staff was so kind and we had an amazing time there.

Looking for something to do indoors during the heatwave we decided to visit the national aquarium. We booked online as was cheaper and used qr code to enter. Kids aged 3 and under went in free. Lots of beautiful sea life to see in various tanks, one you can walk through with sharks overhead which was fun. An interactive digital fish drawing area is in the plastic cave where plastic pollution is explained and then the fishes you colour are shown on a big digital screen. Near the end there is a lift experience where anyone over the age of 5 can go in and experience a shaky bumpy ride deep into the sea for a couple of minutes. There are lots of interesting facts you can learn along the way

Not very big, but well laid out and takes about 1 hour to fully see all of it.
Not too expensive, unless you used their restaurant.
Loved seeing sharks up close.

If you have an hour or so to spare, this is an interesting venue to visit, for both adults & kids. Senior Citizens rates are available - €27.80 for two seniors.
There is a restaurant attatched, but it is quite expensive, although there are snack kiosks nearby, much cheaper.

Fun time at the aquarium. Very informative with touch screen pad at each exhibition. Wide range of species to view. Loved the octopus and then going through shark tunnel. A guide gave an very good talk about sharks. Area highlighting the plastics in our oceans. The simulator was good fun. The Gift shop had a great choice of eco friendly gifts and displayed some of the awards they have won.
Book online for a better entry rate.

We did the back stage tour which included a shark feed (not all of them do) l, and this we would rate 5 stars.

We were shown the feeding prep area, the lab and the shark tank. Our guide talked at length giving us many interesting facts and engaged extremely well with the audience. The kids came away feeling passionate about the need to safe guard our marine environment.

Our guide was a shark expert and showed us the zebra sharks being fed.

The aquarium has a fun tunnel you can walk through to see fish and sharks swimming over head.

A very nice Aquarium, with a large and varied display of marine life.
It has a walkway under one of the large tanks and you can see sharks swimming above your head.
Woth a visit!

Thank you for taking the time to make a review. We regret that the Aquarium did not live up to your expectations. There are over 53 displays, which if you take just one minute in front of those tanks that already takes you 50 minutes, let alone our conservation and educational talks throughout the day, the 40 + interactive tablets which show information about each of the 300 + species in our aquariums. We also have a temperoary underwater museum with very interesting information and original artifacts. You must have missed our shark breed and release programe which has helped over 350 sharks to live without ever having a chance of survival. All items in the shop of marked and priced for everyone to see the price before buying.

Where I live in the UK we have a aquarium so after visiting that I had pretty low expectations as ours is disappointing. This however i really enjoyed. There is so much information and interactive.
An amazing cool simulater deep diver which I really enjoyed. Like I say from the outside as a tourist and seeing the work in the cafe being done I wasn't really expecting much. However we'll I really enjoyed as did my family.
Feels authentic and just really well thought out

Weather was wet and cold today so we headed for this attraction. The adult entrance price is €16.90, which we were ok with - until we saw how much of the centre WASN’T open. We then realised it was a VERY expensive ticket, especially as what little they had on show took us only twenty minutes to get around. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND HARD EARNED CASH.

We popped I'm here as we had some time to kill before going to the airport.
It is quite small but we enjoyed the exhibitions and the simulator.
Slightly on the pricey side.
There is a nice cafe/restaurant next to the reception.
