It was worth touring to say that I saw it. However, aside from the research I did before hand, I would have not known anything. Information in the form of a person, sign, map not available. On this day it was FREE, which was a...More

We visited in February 2016. Why can't this be chosen? :( Calm old town, ideal for a day trip. Beautiful view from the fortress. Turkish bath was my favorite. A few tourists walk around only. We had mild weather, suppose because of the closeness of...More

Stari Bar (the old town) sits atop a hill approx. 3 Km inland from the port and main town of Bar, accessed via a steep, winding road. Not a great deal of parking available near the fortress and on arrival it is not immediately obvious...More

We looked forward to get to these old city ruins after we have been in the Old City of Kotor. In Kotor the old city has become a great place for small merchants and souvenir shops. In the old city of Bar the Ruins are...More

Not a lot of information if you want to learn more about the place and many arrows are no longer clearly visible. Cheap entrance fee of only 2 euros per adult - perhaps this could be used for the upkeep of the place so that...More

We went to the old fortress in Stari Bar around sunset and it was great! There was almost nobody there, so we could walk around in peace and quietness. It was very interesting to read about the history of Stari Bar in the small museum.

I’m not sure what’s going on here. The fortress complex feels like some workers went in 15 years ago with the intention of turning the place into a modern tourist attraction. They spent a month doing the odd. It of work and running cables then...More

The ruined fortess has great views over the city and surrounding mountains. While i was there you could hear the call to prayer from a mosque at the foot of the mountain. The sound echoed around the fortress and made it feel magical.

Opportunity to walk all around a town of ruined houses and churches. There were no restrictions so careful footwork is needed. Renovations in progress . Open till 8 pm but we ran out of daylight . Plenty to see . Low entry fee .

Friends had raved about this place so we thought we should have a look. Worth a few hours and a lunch stop and there are some great views over the coast.
