We managed to do this just before it started raining which was lucky as at this time of year it will slippy on the leafy trail. Going up via Faulkner trail it's relatively easy until the top and takes approx 45 mins , once up there you have very nice views . Getting to the top over the rocks for... More

We climbed to the top of Mount Tom (although at 1250ft it is hardly Everest) using the Faulkner Trail, a zig-zag path through the trees that allowed us to gain the height quickly and we felt a better option than walking up the long drive (as in carriage drive) from the Marsh Billings Estate. Once up we were rewarded by... More

You can get to the top of Mt Tom via the carriage roads in the Marsh Billings estate or via the Faulkner Trail from Faulkner Park which is what we did. The very well maintained path zig zags up the mountain until the end when it gets rockier. The view from the top is lovely in three directions.

Very easy and worth the walk to the top! Keep going and benches along the way to sit if you need a little break!

I am 60 years old, my wife a bit younger at 52. We walked the zig-zag trail to the top, and the Precipice Trail on the way down. Anyone in decent condition can do the zig-zag, up and down. Beautiful hiking trail. Bring water. It's worth it. About two hour commitment.

The trail up to the top of mount Tom is well marked path which zig zags to the top so is therefore not too steep. No real views until you get to the top as the path is a wooded trail. On the day we did the trail, it was closed near the top for repairs, so check before you... More

A easy walk in the woods on a nice day. The view at the top is Woodstock village and surrounding hillsides. Nice but not spectacular.

This is a family friendly hike with several different trails, well blazed and maintained. You can walk to starting point from Woodstock if you are staying there.

Great views of the town of Woodstock and the surrounding hills from the top of Mt. Tom. Really spectacular leaf peeping spot in the autumn. A variety of hiking paths for any age or ability are available. Wooded areas, fields, a pond and the occasional deer. Nice little ski hut with porch to take a break and put your feet... More
