I rated this 5-stars even though I didn't get to see it!! It sounds fascinating--10,000 year-old rock paintings! I would have loved it. After going up the 100+ steps from the parking lot to the entrance, I was told that inside the cave there would...More

If you like early man sites, this will not disappoint. Our guide spoke decent English. Not ideal for small children, babies, and those with orthopedic issues.

I arrived quarter to one and only had to wait about 15 minutes for the next tour. The climb up to the entrance is a long way but with spectacular views though probably unsuitable for the physically challenged. Inside you were given flashlights as there...More

Tour schedules: It's not clear there is a real schedule. We arrived at about 12:15, just as a tour bus was leaving. People waiting said (correctly) that there was a tour scheduled for 1 PM. But around 12:45 a guide and 2 clients emerged from...More

We tried to find the caves on the way to Ronda but wouldn't locate it. After getting a better map and directions from the hotel we set off the next day for the first tour. They were suppose to have a tour at 10 am...More

We hiked from our hotel, Molino Cuatro Paradas, and had to wait an hour for the tour - but it was well worth it! Loved, loved, loved the cave! A must do. There are only limited tours (2 per day?) and limit of 25-people, so...More

Very interesting guided tour. Bit of a hike up to the cave and uneven steps within the cave, so only for the sure footed. Greatly varied styles of art across time as this cave was used over 30,000 years as a religious/cultural focus. The cave...More

I've never visited a cave before but it was praised in our Rough Guide and close to Ronda so we drove there one morning. The tours are supposed to leave on the half hour but basically they leave when enough people show up. Once there...More

We just rocked up and were lucky enough that a tour started 5 minutes later. The caves are very open and airy with cathedral like high ceilings. No fixed lighting as mentioned, just hand held led lamps. The flooring can be very slippery so wear...More

This cave is by appointment only, there are guides, who are very knowledgeable. The pictures are wonderful, to think your viewing something made in the 8th century BC. You have to climb down and up ladders, and it takes over an hr. The drive to...More

If you type in Pileta cave tours on Google you will find the Pileta cave site heading the page and this gives opening times (open all year round and weekends) and advice on how to get there (by train then walk)

You are probably calling out of their operating hours. On their website it says 10:00-12:30 and 16:00-17:00. Good luck!
