We are Sierra Nevada's one-stop shop for the English-speaking visitor. British Ski Center is an English run ski school and Sierra Essence is our holiday booking agency. We have almost 30 years of integrated working experience in Sierra Nevada. Our ski school, British Ski Center, comprises of a team of fully qualified (including native English) instructors offering a flexible and competitive range of tuition options to suit all ski and snowboard requirements. Our booking agency, Sierra Essence, is the official English-run business operation for Sierra Nevada with physical staffing presence in the resort itself. We know the accommodation suppliers to make all the necessary arrangements for your stay and offer valuable and pertinent information specific to your requirements. In addition, we will arrange your lift passes, resort transfers and child care to complement your Sierra Nevada ski trip.

My son and I used our lift passes to get up the mountain in the telecabina and then once up there we realised we have some how dropped / lost our ski passes. Not sure what to do we called the office and spoke to Brianna. She immediately said she would help. She said she would go to the ski pass office with a copy of our receipt and would get us replacements. Furthermore she said her colleague Harry was coming up soon and she’d get him to bring them up to us. Isn’t that just above and beyond customer service. Just fantastic. We have had the best experience with the British Ski Centre this Easter. From the point of booking in January, Lynn was incredibly helpful and quick to respond to any questions.
Our accommodation was excellent and transfers to and from Malaga airport were like clockwork!
Amy and Jonathan were great instructors and were both patient and also pushed us to explore new areas and skills.
I can’t recommend Sierra Nevada and the British Ski Centre more highly. We will be back next year for sure!

One of their team went above and beyond today.
My son and I used our lift passes to get up the mountain in the telecabina and then once up there we realised we have some how dropped / lost our ski passes.
Not sure what to do we called the office and spoke to Brianna. She immediately said she would help. She said she would go to the ski pass office with a copy of our receipt and would get us replacements. Furthermore she said her colleague Harry was coming up soon and she’d get him to bring them up to us.
Isn’t that just above and beyond customer service. Just fantastic. Thank you Brianna

Gilles and Johnathon and the team provided an excellent "turn key" skiing service. We booked the accommodation, ski lift pass, equipment and classes with the British Ski Centre. The accommodation was a comfortable 2 bedroom apartment that was near the city chair lift and a small shop and hotel. Gilles was very kind in ensuring the apartment worked well for us and he also was a very thoughtful ski instructor to our boys. In just a few days we were up and running on skis due to his (and Johnathons) super patient tuition.
great resort...laid back...good food...everything available and easy to drive to from Portugal....very recommended

A great experience booking through the British Ski Center for all your skiing needs in the Sierra Nevada. A faultless organisation and client interface with a "no hassle" approach - they do the "leg work" and you do the skiing! Our lift passes were booked for us, with no registration hassle for us to grapple with for our discounted "senior" lift passes and when the mountain is closed due to bad weather BSC apply for the refund. What's not to like? Our hotel booking was similarly managed and ticked all the boxes. Well done Kristel, Laura and the rest of the team 😊

On our 5th visit to Sierra Nevada and have used the British Ski school every time. We’ve had group and individual lessons. They’ve always been great and all the instructors have been amazing and fun. This time we had Paola and can highly recommend her, super patient and even recommended a fab Italian restaurant (bonus)

Wonderful experience. My daughter had a couple of lessons with Tom and absolutely loved it, plus made outstanding progress and he brought her love for skiing back. Also booked a lesson for a GCSE assessment for my son. One of the bookings was made at the very last minute and they were very helpful and accommodating.
Highly recommended.

With ski school, and particularly children, do you need to pay for a lift pass or is it included in the ski school price?

Hi.... lift passes are required for all levels and are a separate expense. We can pre-book the passes for you however. Just send us an email with at least 3 days in advance to be able to arrange this for you.

Hi Guys My wife and I and 4 kids (13,11,8 and 5) are moving to Monachil in January next year for a year as a different experience and are keen to be taking advantage of our proximity to the snow!
We would be looking to organise ski lessons with the view to us taking to the slopes each week as part of kids Physical Education lessons (we are home schooling them). We will need to hire gear and I foresee maybe 6 weeks of lessons for all of us (1 afternoon a week) and gear hire for the duration of the season. I snowboarded for season in Switzerland 25 years ago other than that we have no experience.
Just wanted to reach out and get some initial info from you guys: prices, availability, lesson times, format etc Would like to book something in as we don't want to miss out!

Hi Douglas,
Thanks for your enquiry. We have a few options that would suit but perhaps I would suggest initially our "Family Enhancement" sessions which are designed to allow you all to be together with your own private instructor and with plenty of time allocated to be able to instruct everyone fairly in spite of differences that may occur as a result of ages, abilities and general progression levels too.
Our Half Day option gives you 4 hours to effectively allocate according to your situation at the time and thereby benefit more through maximising the time with your instructor in a more productive manner.
In other words, if you were to take a standard two hour private session, situations can arise for example through personal fatigue, time limitations etc. whereby an "amount" of time is effectively lost as a result. In these Family Enhancement sessions, when something of this nature occurs, the affected participant(s) can effectively go off for a break whilst (an)other member(s) of the family takes up the focus.
