Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is one of the most beautiful beaches I have visited, turquoise water and white sand. It’s sheltered and perfect to swim in the day. There are also 3 or 4 very nice cafes/ restaurants at the back of the beach.
However I gave it 4 stars because it has limited parking and is €8 during peak season.

Platja Cala Aiguablava is one of a lot of beaches located in Costa Brava Region, in Girona Province, in the North of Catalonia. It is located in the surroundings of Begur, a little town. We came here in winter do do an excursion between Begur and Tamariu. From here, you could see very nice views of the sea, the buildings and the surroundings. Really, there are some places to sun or sunbath or only bath and the are very beautiful. When we visited this place, there is no people, but I am sure in summer season, it will be full. Also, near the place it is Fornells Beach, which is also very nice.

This is the kind of small crowded beach you could see in a postcard and enjoy the beautiful colors while wondering in what lovely place it was taken.
The beach is packed, there is little place to park and afterwards to stretch on the sand but if you go there for a coffee while enjoying the view it’s beautiful.

Absolutely do not hire a boat from these people. We made a reservation 6 days ahead, we offered to pay a deposit but we were told that this was not necessary. We thought we had rented the boat for the whole day (10.00hrs to 18:00hrs) but when we arrived at 10:40 we were told that our boat had been rented to someone else. Better quality boats at cheaper prices can be found at Palamos and Estartit.

In October we had no trouble finding a parking space, though I imagine this pretty sandy cala is popular in the summer. There are WC's, showers on the beach, and depending on wind direction, a gentle splash of waves. Towards the end of the afternoon, you will want to be on the right-hand side to keep in the sun. Two restaurants offer a midday respite from all that tedious tanning.

The sandiest beach we discovered in the Begur area (compare with Platja Fonda and Platja Fornells) and lovely blue water. They rent out pedalos with water slides on them (18 euros for an hour) which the kids loved and Toc El Mar is right there for a great seafood lunch.

Dirty and crowded. Even on a Monday in late Sept. Maybe still local long weekend season. Beech needs a good clean up. The Toc a Mar resturant is spanking so much money out of the place they should be contributing more to the maintenance. Also we are not a fan of taking 25 euros for 4 hours for a sun bed. That area cordoned off should not exist. Of course nothing is like it was 20 years ago and my experience of this area goes back to nearly 50 years ago. Oh well, the gentrification of everything.
Back to the Toc a Mar monopoly. They are rip off merchants of the highest order. Bring your fat wallet. I am all for a bit of “reassuringly expensive” but take a look at their starter prices before you sit down!

A beautiful beach, worth a visit! There is a nice area around that you can go for a walk. There are 2 restaurants/cafes there, but we didn't try them as they seemed more like casual dining and we were looking for something different. There are 2 parking areas, the one up on the right side as you're heading to the beach is free.

One of the prettiest but also one of the busiest beaches on the whole Costa Brava. Tip. In August hit it before 9am or after 7 pm for a glorious swim and spend the rest of your beach time at Platja El Raco best beach ever...but...nudist!..don't let that put you off... only about 20% so easy to ignore.
