Stayed one night at the Parador on our drive down to Sagres. The whole family loved it. Beautiful medieval town with a lovely square where we ate in the evening watching the world go by.

We were quite surprised by Plasencia. Unfortunately we visited the town when there was a fiesta so many of the places were closed. The architecture was very interesting, roman and arab. The aqueduct is worth seeing and also a walk around the old walls.

Driving to Plasencia was a nightmare. When my hotel was not signposted, I followed the signs almost to the tourist office, but they didn't lead there -- they just stopped! They have a lot to learn.

It is a charming little town, with just over 40,000 inhabitants. Some beautiful. Some historical buildings: new and old cathedral, the parador and narrow streets. Friendly and gentle people. Easily covered on foot

Old Town of Plasncia is full of history, great architecture as well as many shops and places for wine and tapas. We were there in October and the weather was pleasant; in the mid 20's.
