Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We came here with our rented car (an hour drive) from Valencia, recommended by our hotel.
Beach is really beautiful, far better than Malvarossa in Valencia. Playa Norte is mostly free, but also have parts to rent sunbeds and umbrellas for a reasonable price. Numerous drinking and dining options just across the beach road. The hilltop picturesque old town of Peniscola adds to its beauty.

Nice long and wide sandy beach. Plenty of space for everyone, even when we were there in mid-August. Getting more crowded closer to the historic village and castle.
Our short stay in Peniscola ended on a bad note. After dinner we decided to walk back to the hotel on the beach. It was dark and just a few people were there. One guy followed us at distance, and when we turned to look at him, he hid in the umbrellas area, and one minute later behind pedalos (small boats). No doubt he had bad intentions. We decided to go back to the boardwalk where there were more tourists walking. I don't know if it's a safe place or not, but we didn't like it and my wife still talked about it 3 day later. Like in many other cities, there are dozens of illegal sellers on the boardwalk. They sell pirated designer goods imported from China (handbags, shirts, shoes, ...). Not sure why they are tolerated but it doesn't help feeling safe. The guy started to follow us just next to that place.

This beach is absolutely beautiful. The white sands are clearly swept mechanically daily as the sand looks pristine every day as if it had not been trod upon the day before. The water is beautiful and there is good depth to the beach. Adjacent to the beach is a walkway where there are benches and shade for one to sit. Restaurants and stores also line the perimeter of the beach, and there are wonderful views toward the castle above the beach. This is a not to be missed attraction in Peniscola.

One of the nicest sandy beach of Peniscola, times ago it was not so large, I think they make it much larger; nice promenade with palms and stunning view to the castle of Peniscola, for relaxing days in the spanish atmosphere .

The Southern beach is some 300 m away is very shallow for the children mostly, with some due facilities. The Northern beach is vast, 6 km long, but also shallow. You need to walkinto the sea 100-150 metres before the water reaches your head and you could normally swim. Theoretically the shallow waters must be warmer, however, during our stay the cold winds did add any joy to swimming.
In some parts the beach is 100 metres wide and more. It is good cared for, with lifesavers, toilets, showers. The sand is regularly cleaned.
In the high season the number of people by the sea is so great (especially during the week-ends when the locals visit the beaches), so that one woud not immediately recognize the place where he had entered the sea to come back.
A good impression of the beach is replenished by a enjoyful look of the castle on the peninsula.

You can safely walk this beach forever and if you have limited mobility the esplanade is paved so it is easy to travel on.

We have been several times on this beach which is very big with a nice view over the Castigo Antico of Peniscola. Unfortunately this beach is very crowded in August.

I visited Plage Nord on the first weekend of August just for a day trip. There is plenty of space in the beach to place your umbrella there and there are restaurants nearby where you can go to enjoy the sight of the beach that you can later enjoy.

This is the northern portion of the beach that extends from Peniscola to Benicarlo. This section of beach is quieter than the areas near the two towns. The road and bike path run parallel to the beach. There are several restaurants and bars along the beach road.
