What a hidden gem! We have been to Topsail Island many times, but had never ventured out to this National Park. We read that it is very dog friendly, so we decided to visit with our dog. Everything about this park is great. The visitor center (off limits to dogs) has an informative short film, as well as interesting and informative displays. The ranger was very accommodating and also gave us great information. Your dog can become a "Bark Ranger," which was actually a very clever way to get good behavior out of dogs and their owners! The history and site is well preserved and the monuments are moving. If you want to speed through you can do it in about an hour. They also have nice restrooms. I would like to go back and stay longer.

A great little stop for a long car ride. We got to the battlefield and were welcomed kindly. There is 10 minute movie in the visitor center. It’s really entertaining! There is a nice little walk you can take and it will lead you to the bridge and right back to the parking lot. The surface was a bunch of chipped tires trust me it feels AMAZING. It’s a great stop if you’re on a nice little road trip. The best thing is it’s free to go to!!!!!

We took our dog for a hike at Moores Creek National Battlefield. The park commemorates the Battle of Moores Creek, a pivotal patriot victory over British loyalists just prior to the start of the Revolutionary War. The visitor center was closed when we visited but the monuments and signage brought the battle to life hiking along the 1-mile trail. The area is very swampy so prone to flooding and recommend visiting in winter before the bugs come out.

We were in Wilmington for a day and decided it visit this Moores Creek National Battlefield. It’s a great Revolutionary War historical site and well worth the time if you enjoy the national parks and historical sites. The park rangers were informative and happy to answer any questions. The trail is about 3/4 of a mile and laid out well, with the usual interpretive signs and markers along the way. Definitely check out the 10 minute movie. It was well produced and informative. The whole visit was about an hour and a half.

I love visiting National Parks, and this was a fun one to visit. The Visitors Center is really nice. There are information displays and a 10 minute movie you can watch. The staff and volunteers are friendly and helpful. There is a lot of nice merchandise and books available for purchase. You can stamp your passport just out front, or grab pre-stamped stickers from a wooden box at the start of the historical trail. There are restrooms outside by the parking lot. The trails are scenic and nice to walk on. There are signs with information about the history of the battlefield along the trail. I look forward to visiting again and walking more of the trail.

Tiny little no-fee National Park in the middle of nowhere north of Wilmington, NC. It ain't Gettysburg but a very rewarding hour spent reading the displays and walking the ground. And as an added bonus for Diane Gabaldon groupies:. Jamie Fraser fought there, as the friendly Ranger confided to us. He also told us that Aunt Jacosta's Cross Creek plantation was actually in Fayetteville! See you learn new things in the most unlikely places.

My wife and I visited the Battlefield on our road trip. We hiked both trails in the park and thought the history was very very interesting. The visitor center was closed due to the COVID virus. I would recommend visiting this Battlefield.

First rate revolutionary war battlefield. Nice visitor Center with good film and explanatory materials. The ranger on duty (sorry should have noted his name) was AWESOME! We had lots of questions and he answered them all, even referring us to books on sale in the gift shop (also very good!) Clean restrooms AND they even have the soundtrack or revolutionary war era folk tunes playing in them! Love that attention to detail! 1 mile hike around the battlefield itself was perfect. Definitely recommend!

My wife and I returned for another visit to the National Battlefield. There have been many upgrades to the Park since our last visit. A new addition to the visitor center, with a new video, plus upgrades to the trails, and new restrooms. All making this a must stop for tourists. Please keep up the great work!

Wandered up here one morning and walked the oaths for an hour or so. Visitor center was closed, but it was still worth my time. The walking maps are nice, and the audio stations were great. I learned a great deal of American history today!
