I believe this part of the attraction is fairly new and is excellent. Spectacular views of the monument that weren't possible before this was completed. Was extremely angry with vandalism we saw on George Washington's bio on the trail. I would love to catch someone...More

Once you see the faces from the main viewing area make sure to do this trail as it leads you to the base of the mountain with some better views. I would recommend going clockwise - that is go to your left from the viewing...More

You get your exercise!! The trail has 250 steps but is worth the walk. Scenery is nice! You get great photos of the monument

What a great way to get closer to the monument and be able to take wonderful photos. This trail does have numerous stairs and may not be for everyone but if you feel physically able be sure to take the approximately half mile walk.

photographers dream as i mentioned in my review of rushmore this trail was not always there, your window of the presidents along the trail give you fantastic moments of wonder and better than binoculars .....which were used in the past

We enjoyed our walk and even got to see some wild mountain goats. You can take some pictures from a different angles on this path.

This trail is actually a stairway and has a lot of steep steps - 400+. Just take your time (remember the elevation) and you can always rest along the way. It is a bit strenuous so if you have health issues this might not be...More

Walked the Presidential Trail on Aug. 31st of this year. Saw many families doing the same thing. Go at your own pace! Do as much of the trail as you can do. Remember that it is about one and a half miles to walk the...More

Depends on your stamina. I recommend clockwise, but either way works fine. My reasoning is that clockwise takes you to the close in viewing points sooner. And sometimes you will see mountain goats along that section of... More
