We visited the church, as we had heard that they had a huge gallery of old vintage black and white photos taken pre Civil War. And they did, and it was a great experience being able to see what Natchez looked like back in the day. It had numerous pictures of just people and steamboats on the Mississippi in that... More

Natchez in Photographs is inside the Stratton Chapel behind the First Presbyterian Church. Inside you’ll find more than 500 black and white historic photos of Natchez citizens, influential, white and black, men, women and children.

Enjoyed a visit to First Presbyterian. Beautiful old church, the windows, especially with the sun streaming in, were beautiful. Pretty sanctuary - the old pews and pulpit were impressive. Place of quiet serenity on a hectic tour.

The pastors are friendly, the church is beautiful and it is very welcoming. Diverse congregation is refreshing too. Fantastic photo collection upstairs.

This man loved photography too and now you can view his extensive collection. It's wonderful and rich with variety. Cost is a suggested $5 donation. This congregation is blessed to get to enjoy this collection regularly. Look for the signs as the entrance to see this is seperate from the main church building entrance then you will be directed to... More

The building is nice, but the best part are the photos upstairs. If I hadn't read this on Trip Advisor, I'd not have known it existed. Fantastic history of Natchez told through photos of young ladies, children, steamboats, families and businesses. What a great lesson!

The docent was not available, but the church and the exhibit were open. I spend almost an hour looking at the photos. They were excellent--not just in their presentation, but in how they represented the life of this town. Fashion, faith, family, the river, architecture---it was all there. Absolutely fascinating and worth another trip whenever I come back. Cannot recommend... More

The church is lovely but the photography exhibit of life in Natchez that is upstairs is alone worth a visit. It covers all aspects of life in Natchez--families, fashion, business, industry, and social life. Vey engaging and humanizing. An hour well spent and if you have time, you will want to stay longer.
