Very large waves with red flags in the winter. Too treacherous to swim. Amazing wale watching though. Baby wales everywhere.

The calmer waters of Wailea and easy access from villas and the road makes this beach special, along with the in shore reefs for snorkeling and the plentiful amount of sea turtles. Good for paddle boarding as well.

Walked there from our hotel. Good beach for kids (sandy and waves ok) and snorkelling along the rocks.

I haven't been to that many beaches but I would have to believe that the beach at Wailea (Grand Wailea) is one of the best beaches in this entire world. It is so wide and deep, the water so clear and so family friendly, and...More

Walk in between the Wailea hotels and great boogie boarding. Small and quietish, perfect for our family!

The water and the sand is heavenly. It was not overly busy even on the weekend. We spent the morning on the beach under our umbrella and walked around on the path later on. Many people were snorkelling and the beach is very family friendly.

We have been staying at the Alua resort so this is our home beach so to speak. It's a great beach with an interesting but not dangerous wave break so great for families - we were used to remote beaches In The Middle East so...More

The white sands and clear water. While in Maui, you should consider planning some time, preferably in the morning at Polo beach. Lots of fish, you see turtles and luckily the kids also saw a sting ray. Make your way down for some great photos...More

Very small beach which i am sure would get very crowded during peak periods with large surrounding hotels. Very beautiful outlook with stunning blue water.

You can always go get in your car and drive to Makawao which is a cool little town that is "upcountry"...or you can just walk next door to the hotel and shop at the mall.
