Sheepworld is New Zealand’s Sheep and Wool Centre. In twice-daily live demonstrations the dogs round up and bring in the sheep, which are then sorted and shorn. Our Wonderful Wool multimedia exhibition then explains how the fleece is turned into an amazing variety of products, many of which are on sale in our store. There’s also an eco-discovery stroll through native bush, a natural adventure playground, a farmyard full of animals and an on-site cafe. Suitable for all ages.

This started out as a kind of weird visit. We arrived on the bus from Auckland in the rain, only to find that there was no one there. A power outage in the area the day before had caused a delay in opening. The only person there to greet the six or so people who were wandering about at opening... More

My visitors remember this show and refer to it in stories afterwards. The shop is very nice and the grounds are interesting. Wear boots or walking shoes if it's been raining. This is a working farm so if you want to walk between the paddocks, it can be a bit messy after a big rain. Feed the lambs from a... More

The dog and sheep show is very educating and interesting. Must do! If I can just buy ticket for the show it will be great because rest of the farm is just ok

We are a family with a young child. We visited Sheepworld on 23 Dec 16 and took the full admission (the park admission and sheep/dog show) and it's a time well spent. There are two show timing, 11am and 2pm. We went for the latter. The show is very informative. Angus, the farm host as well as the professional dog... More

I would expect the Sheep World to be more entertainments and attractive as the Agrodome in Rotorua. Maybe you should add a cow to the farm show for a milking demonstration. More animals display for feeding time.

Hi Andy and thanks for your feedback. Our show at Sheepworld concentrates on sheep, sheep farming (including working sheep dogs demo) plus the New Zealand wool industry. We try to keep our shows informative, entertaining and authentic - a mix of education and fun that is suitable for all ages and nationalities. Cow milking in the show and other animals... More

Thank you John for such an informative and interesting one hour show whilst I knew some of the information I certainly learned a lot more about all aspects of sheep and the life of a shearer would highly recommend - granddaughter Lucy loved it and the ultimate for her was feeding the lambs at the end

Buy some animal food for 1 dollar and enjoy fun, animlas knows that you have something for them a shows you how much they wanna it. Ducks, chicken hens, and geeses are walking free, so they will follow you, like dogs other animals in... More

Very interesting show with some amazing insights to real NZ and our heritage. The farmer/showman reminded me of time I spent as a young lad on my uncles farm. Being a towny I was in awe of his skill, strength, understated matter of factness and the humour, he was a superhero. Fabulous and a must see for everyone that is... More

Visited sheep world with a school trip & yes although it was a great place it is very expensive & the show was completely inappropriate for the 5 year olds on their class trip. Save the politics & the genitalia talk for those that want or need to hear it

Hi RossB. We are very pleased to hear that you think Sheepworld is a great place, thank you for visiting. We are disappointed and surprised though to hear that you feel it is expensive. Our own research indicates that we are less expensive than most comparable attractions and represent very good value for money as a leisure activity. A family... More
