This park is a piece of paradise and I had the pleasure of visiting here on a beautiful winter's day. If you do not have a lot of time do the eco trail which will not take you much longer than an hour yet will...More

The peninsula offers awesome views, nice walking and biking trails, bird-watching opportunities, great surfing waves, etc. We stayed a night at the campsite (booking needed!) which is very much recommended. In winter time things are relatively quiet and ideal for wandering through nature and along...More

One of the nicest beaches in New Zealand - except in high summer when it is really busy. Go at a quiet time and have the whole place to yourself!

Just visited again after a few years, for a mid-fall camping trip. Hardly any campers out there this time of year, so only shared the all-modes campground with 10 or so others. The pukekos and fantails definitely outnumbered us this visit. As we weren't up...More
