We found a spot to park, check the signs for directions and off we went! It was a fairly easy walk. The path is well maintained. Just something if you are in the area, you must do! Wonderful!

Heli-hike is insane! Absolutely beautiful. Crawling through and under crevices in the glaciers was surreal. A must do.

Magnificent view of the glacier. Nice waterfall along the hike. Recommend to wear comfortable hiking shoes for the walk.

Impressions of views in this area are very much influenced by weather conditions. Fortunately, the sun was shining that day and it was warm enough to go in shorts and t-shirts. Of course, the view is great along the path. The glacier itself has retreated...More

Well worth the time and effort to go up the trail to see the glazier. The glaziers are smaller than those from Alaska or Banf national park but unique in their own way by having a very steep drop from the ice field on top...More

It’s a long walk from the car park. Budget at least 90 mins to go and come with no stops in between. It was a bit cloudy so couldn’t see the entire glacier. But whatever we saw was beautiful.

Amazing walk from the car park up to the Glacier...fascinating to see the glacier and the effects it has had on the surrounding countryside and river bed. Geology explained visually. Track can be narrow in places but safe and sense of achievement when you reach...More

Personally I would choose the Franz Joseph/Mt Cook helicopter ride and then cruise Milford Sound to enjoy and appreciate its beauty looking up and around.

Doubtful Sound experience is better than Milford Sound. Much more peaceful and spectacular. Go by boat to get the full experience
