When my brother and I first reached Saipan, we were told to check out the street markets on Beach Road that are held every Thursday night from 5:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. The markets consisted of a variety of stalls selling fresh fruit and vegetables, clothing, souvenirs as well as many BBQ stalls serving an assortment of meats. There was also live... More

Itching at this market. Food open and exposed and not protected. It didn't look appealing. Cheap though.

Visited Garapan Street Market on a recent visit. The market is every Thursday night. The food choices were great and the prices were amazing. The best were the BBQ sticks for $1 each. There were a few interesting booths for shopping. The funny thing was there were no trash cans at all. I had to bring my trash back to... More

After a long day at Managaha Island, we stopped by the Garapan street market. There were plenty of food stalls with a decent variety. I found that there were many BBQ stalls that sell skewers, ribs, etc. All food here is much cheaper than the restaurants and it was still pretty good. There was also live music and traditional dance... More

From Thursday nights 5 until 9 or so, dozens of food stalls (and some other stalls selling clothes and random stuff) are set up on Beach Road. While Saipan isn't the cheapest place to dine out, most of the stalls had some great meal deals. My wife was dying to get some good Korean food and got a great 5... More

This review is quite late. I had the chance to experience the Garapan Street Market during one of my trips to Saipan. The best time to visit is in the late afternoon when all the stalls have opened. I find the stalls selling Filipino food more interesting; the desserts were really tempting.

I went during the hot afternoon. Apparently the time to shop is evening, because some stores did not open until 4pm and they stay open until 2 am! But the bigger stores like ABC, Saipan Store, and some clothing shops were open, but I was the only one shopping in most of the stores. You have to shop around because... More

The market has not moved back to it's original location on Beach Road, which is fine with me because it got too crowed there in front of the Fiesta Hotel. It is a lot less hot. There is a good variety of food such as Chomorro, Chinese, Filippino, Thai, Korean, etc. Kids will probably like the meat on steaks. A... More

We passed by for dinner and we were not disappointed with the array of dishes and cuisine. There are a few street markets that are very big and overwhelming. This was a good size and we were in and out very quickly as soon as we found what we wanted to eat

The Garapan Street Market has (temporarily?) relocated to Garapan Fishing Base, across from Kristo Rai Church (with the tall steeple) on Beach Rd. This is just south of McDonald's in Garapan, still within walking distance of the major hotels. A good option for this walk is to visit the Northern Mariana Islands Museum of History and Culture before closing time,... More
