Drove down from Atlanta with my older brother who was visiting from Portland, OR. It was on his list of things to do and it was well worth it.

We evacuated from Hurricane Florence to the Macon, GA area. While we knew about the Allman Brothers, we did not know they spent time in Macon, and specifically, in The Big House from 1970-1973.
Parking for the house is off of Vineville Ave. Make an...More
Expensive to see at $15.00 and we did not go in because of the high price. If you like the Allman Brothers it might be worth it. But we did not want to go in. Lower the price for people on a fixed income.
We were staying here for the week since we had to evacuate from Myrtle Beach for Hurricane Florence. It is too pricey for a family at $15 charge per person. Maybe $8 a person would be good.. We did not go thru the home.

Depends on what you consider “getting your moneys worth”. The museum/house is not large but they have a lot of interesting artifacts and memorabilia in display glasses throughout. I’m the type of person who likes to take my time and read and view everything when I tour a museum. If you’re like me give yourself 2 to 2.5 hours. Otherwise, if not concerned with all the details hour, hour and half. Talk with the staff if you have the opportunity. Great people who have interesting stories about the band. A lot of pride went into the museum and it shows.
