I love Southern Rock and even saw Greg Allman at a grocery store in Roswell, GA when I was about 4! I remember his long blond hair and the fact that he was very "happy"! It was thus cool to see this place and all the memorabilia - songs written on paper, instruments, costumes, etc. Would definitely go if you... More

We were driving thru on a camping trip and found this museum by searching through trip advisor . We walked around the outside only as they are only open on certain days and times. We peered thru the windows and it looked like a great museum but sad we could not see more.

I loved visiting the The Big House. I highly recommend it to any true Allman Brother fan. Well worth the visit and the employees were very informative. You will likely walk out with a piece of their history that will stick with you forever. And definitely go to the cemetery. It may be overwhelming at first but you'll see why... More

This museum is only open Thursday through Sunday, but if you were ever a fan and have time it's worth a visit. This is where the entire Allman brothers band lived in the early days, and there's tons of memorabilia. My son, a budding musician, loved all the guitars and the self guided tour info was very informative.

Wife is a music buff so toured the house. The place is very well kept up and has a ton of stuff from their history. Well worth touring the place.

Fleeing Hurricane Matthew, we thought of Macon as a destination after reading about "The Big House" and other attractions. It did not disappoint! The collection here is huge, the music and videos ongoing...and as you enter the 2nd floor you feel as if you are on hallowed ground. It was easy to visualize band members gathered here. A $10 admission... More

A lot of the information they shared would show a date and I would try and remember where I was and what I was doing. The memorabilia was amazing, this place is a must see if you ever enjoyed the Allman Brothers band.

If you know this band, visit this house!! You will walk away with a better understanding and appreciation for their talent. They will give you a diagram to the local cemetery by the river where they hung out and got the inspiration for some of their songs. Allow an hour for the cemetery trip because it is well worth it... If you are an Allman Brothers aficionado, you certainly don't want to miss The Big House, the Allman Brothers Museum. Be sure to check the hours first. Tons of memorabilia displayed with purpose! And a gift store full of music, t-shirts, etc. Don't miss it! Have fun!
