Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

One of my ancestors marched with the Mormon battalion so I come here from time to time. The monument is very well done and includes a brief description as well as all of the names of those who served.

The monument represents a group of men who traveled California to fight in a war. There are depictions of various events that occurred as the men traveled. The monument is impressive and detailed. It is located outside the capitol building.

The setting is beautiful on the hilltop and there are views of the mountains and downtown. The stone is pretty rose pink and the story of this military unit during the Mexican war is particularly interesting and the ties to the gold rush in California. The tour guide told us the story. We didn't see any information to read when you get there beside one little plaque which is very unfortunate to anyone who doesn't have a tour guide so you'll have to look it up on the internet yourself.

We enjoyed this stop on our tour. It was such an interesting story the Mormon Battalion had and the connection to the California gold rush.

This historic monument honors the Mormons who fought against Mexico in the Mexican American War. It is an impressive structure.

Quick stop on my way threw town. Good monument, better looking up close. State building is cool to look at. The address Trip Adviser provides is wrong. Trip Advisor navigated us up the street in the middle of the road from the monument. You pass it.
