This canyon is beautiful and has it all: hiking, skiing & snowshoeing in the Winter, incredible in the Fall. If you want a break from the city, this is a wonderful place to visit.

You can do just about everything here that an outdoorsy person would love. From the numerous camping sites open during the summer to snow skiing at Solitude and Brighton in the winter. It's a beautiful canyon just to take a drive. Lots of places to pull over and hike and take some amazing pictures.

This Canyon was #1 on so many to-do lists I read about. No matter what, I wanted to check it out. I see the potential for the Canyon in summer.....trails, picnics, river, etc. However, in the winter everything is snowed over. No parking available and chains block off trails. A pretty drive, but that was about it. Will try again... More

The walk around Silver Lake is so beautiful, easily accessible, and a great walk for young and old. There is a boardwalk for most of the walk, but side trails and walks through deeper forests are very peaceful and beautiful. Lots of wildlife as well.

Take a 6 hour bike ride a cross the rocky Mountains. It's a must during the summer month's. 2 miles up hill and then down hill until you get to the bottom of Mill creek.

I love the Wasatch Mountains! The peaks are majestic as any you will see in the world. The canyons offer wonderful vistas of both mountains and valleys. The seasons change and with the changing seasons, the vistas offer uniquely varied perspectives. Absolutely wonderful!

Great hiking in the summer and some trails you can snowshoe on in the winter. Of course it has great skiing/snowboarding in the winter. Beautiful canyon with things to do year round. The is even some great sledding hills. Around Solitude lake you will find the boardwalk trails suitable for young children or the elderly

For visitors and locals, Big Cottonwood Canyon is a must see/often visit place. The drive up the canyon is lovely in spring, summer and fall. Hiking trails are common on the way up. These days it costs money to visit a campground even for a picnic. At the top of the canyon there is a big parking lot at the... More
