Decided to walk in and see this interesting place. It has far more than I expected, and a really nice place to find a book & read. Or plenty of places to relax. Or roam through the few small stores. Find your way to the great rooftop terrace where you will have some nice views of Salt Lake! Don't pass... More

We happened upon this by accident. It was absolutely beautiful! Besides having amazing architecture throughout the library, it has a really cool top floor terrace to relax and enjoy the views. it was DEFINETLEY worth it!!

Overall, the shops are nice, the resources are great, and the building is spectacular. Definitely one of Salt Lake's hidden gems. Some locals like to complain about the homeless here, but they obviously don't have much experience going to the Library. I've lived in Salt Lake most of my life and every time I go to the Library it's a... More

We found this as a "hidden gem" recommendation - so glad we made the trek away from the main SLC attractions around The Temple are . What a beautiful building and loved visiting the shops on the first level. Reviews mentioning the homeless are accurate but hey...unfortunately, a reality in most all areas of our country. None approached us nor... More

Salt Lake City's Main Library, designed by internationally-acclaimed architect Moshe Safdie opened in February 2003 and remains one of the most architecturally unique structures in Utah. This striking 240,000 square-foot structure houses more than 500,000 books and other materials, yet serves as more than just a repository of books and computers. It reflects and engages the city's imagination and aspirations.... More

Very large library with shops and community areas. The rooftop is amazing for a birds eye view of the entire city!

Too many homeless like to congregate here and smoke up the place. It would be nice if they could enforce the no smoking laws and keep the place not smelling so stinky

The glass elevator was neat. It was very impressive and designed in a cool way. I had places for people to read, or to quietly enjoy a good game of some sort.

Awesome place to charge your laptop and get some work done. Lots of tables for groups to collaborate or desks for the lone wolf. Stop in if you are near, it is worth seeing.

This building is beautiful, amazing design. It has a nice outdoor space and great views. The problem is that it is a gathering place for the homeless. That isn't a problem unless you are weaving your stroller through shopping cart traffic or need to use the bathroom. The children's section was literally so dirty I didn't let my baby play... More
