Wow! like none other!

Immense, bright & airy, well laid out. Definitely a place to spend time--even if you don't check anything out.

I love going to libraries. And since I am in the SLC area, I frequently visit the Salt Lake Library a lot. I enjoy going there. It's very nicely setup. Lots of floors. Couple nice small shops and cafes. But the main thing is the books. Has a large selection of books and it's so easy to get a library... More

The Salt Lake City Public Library is one of the most interesting buildings in Salt Lake City. It has unique architecture that is easy to spot, and hard to forget. Once inside, glass walls make the library look both futuristic and classic and an open and peaceful place to research, read, eat, or shop, while still feeling connected to the... More

Decided to walk in and see this interesting place. It has far more than I expected, and a really nice place to find a book & read. Or plenty of places to relax. Or roam through the few small stores. Find your way to the great rooftop terrace where you will have some nice views of Salt Lake! Don't pass... More

We happened upon this by accident. It was absolutely beautiful! Besides having amazing architecture throughout the library, it has a really cool top floor terrace to relax and enjoy the views. it was DEFINETLEY worth it!!

Overall, the shops are nice, the resources are great, and the building is spectacular. Definitely one of Salt Lake's hidden gems. Some locals like to complain about the homeless here, but they obviously don't have much experience going to the Library. I've lived in Salt Lake most of my life and every time I go to the Library it's a... More

We found this as a "hidden gem" recommendation - so glad we made the trek away from the main SLC attractions around The Temple are . What a beautiful building and loved visiting the shops on the first level. Reviews mentioning the homeless are accurate but hey...unfortunately, a reality in most all areas of our country. None approached us nor... More

Salt Lake City's Main Library, designed by internationally-acclaimed architect Moshe Safdie opened in February 2003 and remains one of the most architecturally unique structures in Utah. This striking 240,000 square-foot structure houses more than 500,000 books and other materials, yet serves as more than just a repository of books and computers. It reflects and engages the city's imagination and aspirations.... More

Very large library with shops and community areas. The rooftop is amazing for a birds eye view of the entire city!

Too many homeless like to congregate here and smoke up the place. It would be nice if they could enforce the no smoking laws and keep the place not smelling so stinky
