It is a lot windy and water can be cold in Gulf of Mexico compared to Corpus Christi Bay. Fun place to spend with family and friends, if you love the waters.

The beach was very nice and very clean! The bathroom facilities were quite nice, and the benches and picnic tables provided were great as well. The cost of our camping trip was pretty low, and it was a really great value. Definitely the best beach I've been to in Texas, and I'm from Texas. I would say our trip was... More

You can't beat this all in one coastal destination conveniently close to city limits but worth every minute of the drive!! Gotta go just once...and you'll be sure to return to this favorite Texas spot near multiple wild life refuges...Rain or shine!

You need a National Park day or annual pass to access the Padre Island National Seashore. Take time to wander through the visitor center.

Love love love! People talk about Florida and California, but I think Texas beaches are fantastic! Sadly there were warnings of red tide, but we didn't see any evidence, and didn't experience any problems. The sand here is white and feels like flour on your feet. It's so soft and feels amazing between your bare toes! The visitor is a... More

I don't understand the amount of trash on these beautiful beaches.....Is it lack of National Park resources or just a lack of concern?

The beaches here are very clean. Beautiful to watch sunrises or sunsets. Great to just spend the day loafing around a very clean beach. There is a Visitor's Station there with some hands-on stuff for the kids, showers, and a quickie mart to replenish food and drink before the short trip back to Corpus. So worth the short drive.

My recommendation to anyone visiting town would be to skip all attractions and straight head to the Malaquite beach! Miles long stretch of untouched, beautiful beach. The beach is extremely clean and not crowded at all. Driving on the beach was a wonderful and unique experience.

The beach has the most beautiful sand I have seen in Texas. The views are lovely, the place is incredibly clean, and the rangers kind and courteous.
