Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Spent half the day Mustang Beach which was so serene and beautiful. It was very clean compared to Corpus Christi Beach which had tons of trash in the water. Drive to the Island north of Mustang Beach and enjoyed it. Lots to see and do. Souvenir shops, art, and FOOD! Stopped at a Souvenir Shop with the BIG Shark you can walk in and take advantage of a cool photo opportunity with the kids. They had a variety of things with prices that can fit your budget. Afterwards, we went to a snowcone stand across the street (and next to a liquor store) and met the owner who was 30 minutes from our home town. He was a very sweet Christian man with quite a testimony and played Christian music. He said that was where God put him and I believe it. His stand and picnic table was very clean and sanitized. You could smell the "clean". I also learned that his mama started the biggest sand castle competition which continues annually. loved our visit. Lots of little buggies in the streets. Very cool!

This is a gorgeous beach, all of Mustang island from the South Jetty where we watched dolphins play in front of big ships coming and going, to beach access roads. You have to get off highway 361 to see ocean beaches, waves, shore birds, dunes,... it's also very family friendly.

It’s misleading when call it ‘scenic drive’. You don’t see much beside the 2 lanes road, empty open fields, some nice houses/communities along the way. It’s a nice drive though. When you get to the end/the loop, Port Aransas, there’s a little cute beach town.
If you want to see the ocean, you have to go into the ‘beach access roads’, from there, you can drive along the beach, on the sand. It’s wonderful. But you should have a 4 wheel drive vehicle, otherwise you may get stuck if the sand is too soft.
I see people complain about the jellyfish. I didn’t encounter any. Not sure because of the season, or the beaches we went in. I would choose Corpus Christi beaches over Galveston’s

There are various beach access points from within Padre Island National Seashore and points north, heading up route 361 to Point Aransas, with beach access at various points along the way. We found the beaches to be wide, vast, and lightly populated during the offseason. At Point Aransas, there is a ferry back to the mainland. I'd recommend trying a couple of beach access points: one at the south and one at the north.

You have to turn off the main road to get onto the beach. Good to know how to drive on the sand, and what to do if you get stuck. Good to know where to park and how the tide can come in and destroy your car. Beautiful beaches with wild life. Restrooms and showers on the beach. Find out the current requirements for permits to camp on the beach.

We loved this beach! The waves are so pretty and we enjoyed the quiet atmosphere in September. Be sure to bring plenty of towels because the sand gets EVERYWHERE!

I took my family on this drive cause it was cold. You need to know going in that you are not driving along beaches on this drive. You need to turn off in order to find beaches. We found this drive quite unspectacular. I'd post a picture but we didn't take any.

So many beaches you can visit when you're in Corpus Christi. Some are quiet and some are very crowded. You can drive your car from one beach to another during the ebb tide. Almost all the beaches are free parking. There are so many water birds on the beaches and the pelican is everywhere.
