Took my Girl Scouts! Had an informative walk looking for plant and native birds. Great information on Mexica America War. Great place to visit if you are a bird watcher. Great staff.

The war of Mexico and U.S. was back in 1846. They battled it out for 2 years. I believe a treaty was signed and Mexico gave up parts of California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. To know that it started here in Palo Alto (Brownsville)...More

A little difficult to find...they have moved the visitor center and it was not updated on our GPS. Interesting history. We didn't walk out to the battlefield site because it was raining.

I was very impressed with this little gem of a place. Very interesting historical site. I would highly recommend a visit here especially if you don’t know the history of Texas/Mexico/US borders. Learned a lot. Friendly staff and nicely kept facility.
