Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Spotted the Occidental Life Building while on a city tour and a beautiful design it is, well worth locating and it gleams in the sunlight.

When visiting downtown ABQ, taking time to walk to and photograph this unique treasure is highly recommended. My wife and I were waiting for an early afternoon film to begin at nearby KiMo Theater on Saturday, 11 Jun 2016, and I decided to walk around the central downtown area for a few minutes. I had read about this building in the Moon Travel Guide for New Mexico and wanted to scope it out. What an impressive sight! The building in on the northwest corner of Gold Avenue and 3rd Street.
This building features a Venetian Gothic Revival style that is unusual for New Mexico. The gleaming white terra cotta tile facade wraps around the south and east sides of the building. The facade was modeled after that of the Doge's Palace in Venice, with arcades of pointed Venetian Gothic arches and elaborate floral ornamentation. The building's rounded corners are punctuated with pointed turrets.
After taking several photographs, I returned to KiMo for "Sunset Boulevard." After the movie and before driving on to Santa Fe, I had to show this building to my wife. We had a blast enjoying the majesty of this most unique site.
