Blue Portal is a unique gift store with items made by New Mexico senior artisans. It is a philanthropic program of the Assistance League(R) of Albuquerque. All the items in the store are made by local artisans who must be 55 years or older to participate. The Blue Portal does not charge these artists to place their items in the store. The artist sets his own prices and receives 100% of any sale revenue. The store is staffed entirely by volunteers of the Assistance League of Albuquerque. Blue Portal is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00AM to 4:30PM, on Sunday from 1:00PM to 4:00PM. The store is closed to the public on Monday.

My wife and I bought some well made items at very reasonable prices. You need to take your time looking through the shop and doing it several times as the items are not necessarily displayed to best advantage. We'll visit again on our next trip...More

Stumbled upon this store and was amazed at the crafts. The wood and glass objects are beautiful, bowls, decorative boxes, plates. It is staffed by knowledgeable volunteers who know the merchandise and are eager to help.
