Lots of intriguing exhibits exploring the history and current state of hot air ballooning. Details on international explorers and inventors along with excellent photo ops and even a lifelike simulator. Highly recommended.

My wife and I visited on a cold, windy January day. There weren't many visitors, so we got our own guided tour by a wonderful docent, Mary. The museum has a great coverage of ballooning history, technology, and people. They have the actual gondolas from...More

We stopped by here to see the balloon exhibits, but it is so much more---it goes through the history, military application and scientific research of balloons. There are neat side exhibits about weather and landforms. This was my second visit and I plan on coming...More

Some interesting exhibits and history of balloon flight. Lovely people in the gift shop that helped us plan to return during the balloon festival in October.

I think I went in expecting something different than what it was, but still a cool stop. Apparently they launch hot air balloons at the the location during the Albuquerque Balloon Fest, so that's cool 🤷🏽‍♀️

The museum gives a great history of ballooning from the origins in Europe to the large ballooning presence in Albuquerque. Lots of great displays from full scale models down to small buttons/pins. Can easily take a couple hours to walk though
