A very interesting spot with an amazingly well done short trail. A very steep trail takes you a hill with petroglyphs throughout. Lovely views along the short way. A couple of side trails offer more to look at. Hi

Three trails in this one location. Easy walking between them. Be prepared to climb and always watch your step! Facilities available and lots to see.

The hike was easy, and short, good for a quick stop. There are informational boards throughout the hike explaining the history as well as each hieroglyph. There is a nice view of the surrounding area from the top.

We did a quick tour of the canyon. Some of the drawings were quite close to the roads so we were able to do a short bout of sightseeing on our road trip to Louisianna. A bit of history.

This is unique in that subject matter on the glyphs depicts a macaw. This bird is certainly not native to New Mexico and could only have been acquired by trading with Indians that peopled areas where these birds roamed freely (like Mexico). It was a...More
