Have been visiting the Equestrian Statue of Francisco Cuervo y Valdes for years. It is easy to locate, it is free, and you can stop and rest foe awhile walking in Old Town.

My wife and I visited Albuquerque and spent about a day and a half walking through Old Town visiting its boutique shops, restaurants, museums, historical sights, and just taking in its beauty.... The Don Francisco Cuervo Y Valdes Statue was the first thing we saw...More

The statue is at the order of old town and welcome visitors to the area. While it is not an exceptional statue it is fun and a fitting welcome. I liked it!

Ruggedly executed, it gives the feeling of the rough-around-the-edges setting Don Francisco found himself in (back in the early 1700's). The horse turns his head, raises its hoof, and looks every bit the war horse he probably was. Move over, Bucephalus! Don Franciso is reading...More
