This is a great place to learn about the native culture and how they lived. An outdoor walking museum gives you a full understanding of what island life was. Make the time to explore and learn. We spent about 2 hours walking and learning. You can also take one of the scheduled Guided Ranger talks which are very interesting and... More

This is a great area to visit, along with the historical park, adjoining beach areas are worth the time to check out their respective features. The historical park is well maintained and the park map gives a self guided tour. Well worth the $5 entrance fee! We had the opportunity to take part in 2 traditional games used for warrior... More

This is a beautiful and serene area, rich in Hawaiian history and sacred meaning. As other reviews have stressed, take time for the Ranger presentation. It is informative, humerous and puts in perspective the history and meaning of this place. And, our presenter also gifted us with a haunting melody from a nose flute. It is easy to understand how... This is another great place to view the Heiau's the ancient Hawaiians built. The amount of work these took to construct is amazing.

Mom and I visited twice, amazingly serene, with a historical back ground, lots of wild life, as this is a sacred, peaceful place I would not recommend this for small children that parents can not control. It ruins the atmosphere, we were able to see many different birds, say sea turtles, lots of fish, as well as lizards, and insects.... More

This site is well worth the drive and small admission fee. It was a nice in depth, interactive historical place as well as a quiet beach/tidepools with some bbq grills open to the public. The brochure they give you walks you through the two historical sites on the premises, the royal estate as well as the sanctuary. There is a... More

The location is so stunning with white sandy beaches, plam trees, historic buildings and great eneregy. Turltles swim around in the turquoise soft shallow water, its simply beautiful.
