The "Two Step" snorkeling beach on the North side of the park is great too.

The snorkeling beach on the North side of the park (nicknamed "Two Step" because of the step-like formation used to access the water) is a great place to swim or snorkel. Pods of spinner dolphins like to hang out there (and occasionally whales, I'm told), and we snorkeled with the dolphins for several hours. They come to the surface right... More

For $5 you get to enter the park. Very pretty grounds. It's a self guided tour and you get a brochure when you enter. Neat little piece of history. There are park rangers scattered though out who are happy to talk further with you about the land and history. The grounds my not be accessible to all due to soft... More

Our friends recommended visiting this location, and we were very glad we did. There is a small fee ($5?) to get in, and they give you brochure that details the various things you will see in the park. We enjoyed hearing the history of the main venue, and the location and buildings around the site were amazing. They offer an... More

Self-guided tour of a historical cultural site. This is a peaceful and beautiful location. The statutes and buildings have a lot of detail. There were large turtles in the water near the rocks, fish in a pond, beautiful flowers and trees. There is a beach nearby for swimming, snorkeling and relaxing.

If you come to The Big Island this is a must!!! I was able to visit this National Park and already want to go back. Not only does this park provide amazing scenic views and great photo ops. It also offers a great history lesson. The sand is gorgeous and the view of the ocean from the lava is breathtaking.... More

This place was nice. We had to use the map for the tour since we arrived after the last guided tour. Listening to my son try to read the map was probably the most enjoyable time of my vacation, ha ha. We laughed so hard!! I saved the map just so he could try to read it again for me... More

A short outdoor walk around a historic cultural site with beautiful views of the sea at some points. Uneven surfaces = shoes recommended.

The Great Wall, carvings of gods, and beautiful beach area are unforgettable. Only $5!!! Follow the map and the markers to truly appreciate the area. Stay for a ranger talk if you're able. I heard a woman say it was boring, but she's crazy! Ha!

The driver that we hired for the day brought us here so it was unexpected. Only a few dollars to get in, and mostly outdoors, it was a great and interesting touch of history of Hawaii. Beautifully laid out and far too much for us to look at in the time we had available. Set aside a few hours for... More

We really enjoyed this, as did our teenage daughters. We were a little disappointed, that some of the areas on the map were not marked very well, and you ended up walking right by them without even knowing it. The huge wall is pretty cool. We parked here and then just walked around the corner and down the street to... More
