Nice drive from Crescent city over to 199. If you’re going from grants pass Do Crescent city it’s a little shorter. It is a dirt road but we took our 2008 impala on it. Beautiful large trees.

Excellent spot to see the redwoods. Long, slow drive in, but well worth it. Take your time and enjoy the magnificent trees after a short walk. Very easy to get down to the grove from the parking area, then a mostly level walk.

We took this hike with our 2 boys (7&8 Yrs Old) as well as our in-laws (both 68 yrs). There is a relatively steep descent into the forest floor. The path however is paved. Once in the forest floor the trail is very flat and...More

This group of large redwood trees an easily be seen by walking a fairly easy 1 mile loop trail thru the grove. There are rest rooms in the parking lot. Auto access is by one of the scenic drives in Jedediah Smith State Park.

This was part of the scenic drive through the trees. Very nice but slow drive. Stout Grove was a nice 1 mile loop hike through the trees that was very easy.

I had read that this location was an ideal experience because of the limited amount of undergrowth beneath the giant redwoods in this particular area. Those reviews were right! If you can, stop at the Jedediah Smith visitor center to get their directions to the...More

Nice place but bumpy road. The trees are amazing and worth the ride in. I would recommend this visit.

Easy hike with beautiful and majestic redwoods. It is near the campground at Jedediah Smith State Park. There is also a parking lot if you are not camping. Beautiful river and footbridge (seasonal) leading to the grove of trees. Just incredibly beautiful. And, I don't...More

We came from Oregon also. From 199 you'll take a left on S. Fork Rd. Then you'll come to a "T" in the road, stay to the right & take Douglas Park Rd. You'll come to another "T" in the road, stay to the right again & this... More
