We were tired from a day of traveling and just wanted to take a walk. We strolled down the pier to the lighthouse and along the breaker barrier. What a great experience. The weather was a little overcast and breezy, just what we expected. Love it.

While we were eating lunch at North Coast Ocean Sports and Grill, we watched a promotional video of Crescent City that showed many highlights of the town and surrounding area. Point St. George Park was one of the areas showcased. We decided to go there to stretch our legs and stay for the sunset. We were not disappointed. We parked in the large lot off of N. Pebble Beach Drive and headed north toward the beach. The many rocks and miles of driftwood provided our boys (teen and pre-teen) ample fun prior to the sun fading into the Pacific Ocean. I'll never forget this spot, the overall experience or the sound of the waves coming in. It's a peaceful, relaxing and a beautiful place close to town. A great family to-do or romantic spot. There were probably 6 vehicles in the lot during our visit. Looking behind you (back toward the mountains and town and forests) was great as well and helped provide a good perspective of the surrounding area/landscapes. Finally, I've read that wind can be a deterrent, but we didn't experience on our visit.…

I love the Pacific Ocean and spending any available time I can near it. Staying on Coronado, going to La Jolla to see the seals, etc..but nothing compares to the Northern coast. I have no words to describe the stunning view, the short walk to the beach, and that light mist building throughout the afternoon and evening. Just perfect. Grab your partner, write your initials in the wet sand and share a kiss. Memory to remember. …
