Amazing 360 view on top of the rock. Make certain you scale the crevasse between the rock to get to the very top. Truly breathtaking views. Moderate hike climbing 1k feet over 2 miles with a steep stretch the last .25 mile of the trail....More

We recently hiked the Kruger Rock trail, and it gives wonderful views for a relatively short (2 miles each way) hike. Keep a sharp eye on the weather however, as we got caught in a thunder and lightning storm with hail, despite it being sunny...More

It can be a little confusing as you drive the road thru Hermit Park. But head to the group picnic area and park in designated area. It’s a real short trail from parking area across “main” road to the stairs that begin the trail. The...More

Kruger Rock is in the Hermit Park Open Space (see separate Trip Advisor review). The trail gains 900 feet in elevation (8400 - 9300) in just under 2 miles, so it is not too steep and has several places where it is flat. If you...More

Visited Colorado with my fiance while she had a work conference. I took a day to do some hiking while she was regrettably stuck in meetings all day. A quick Google search yielded that this trail was not too long and had amazing views. Considering...More

This was one of the mosr fun, moderate hikes we have done in a long time. Nice to get awaw from the chaos of parking and lines for everything in RMNP.

I certainly would not do it at night but then I wouldn't hike anywhere in the dark. It is not a difficult trail but still it would not be something I would recommend to do in the dark.
